As predicted, they're back in their bunkers again.

I expect we may see a couple of them reluctant to go back in if we suffer any poor result in the last 6 games, but Operation Valkyrie will have to be put off for another season.

Not me. Given the choice I'd have him gone tomorrow.

I have the opposite view to yourself (of which I respect) in that I think this season is the norm rather than last season.

Unfortunately for me he's going nowhere at the moment so I can only hope I am wrong and you are right.

If you did get shut of RM who would you replace him with, taking into account we are not a big club in the eyes of the top managers.
I ask as I was al in favour of getting RM, and believe in when you get a new man you go with the longevity approach.
I have stated he has got a fair amount wrong this season and his stubbornness has give him little or no hiding place.
We are a club that sits between 5th - 9th, so we have to be patient in trying to break into the top 4. We had 11 years of Moyes who I believe done a fantastic job, but if honest we achieved little or nothing under his tenure, but we give him time and support whilst he tried to achieve his best.
To want a manager gone after a 2 seasons smacks of somebody chasing something that is out of reach, and if you get shut of RM you tread a dangerous path as every new manager will suffer as he will not be awarded the time to build and try to succeed.
After all that, who would you have

I don't class myself as a plotter, I class myself as a regular supporter who has been going for decades . I think that qualifies me as being able to have an opinion on the mess that this season has been. The reasons have all been done to death. I don't want Martinez to fail, I've never wanted any of our managers to fail as I love the club. However the last time I felt this uneasy about a manager was Mike Walker. The yard stick for me will be our pre season preparations or lack of them. I live in hope !.

Wouldn't have employed him in the first place. He did nothing in my eyes to warrant the Everton job. He won a cup yes but got the same team relegated at the same time which outweighs the cup win for me. If you look at his seasons at Wigan it was always around this time he strung a few results together to make him them safe. His last season he put a cup before safety in a way maybe to add to his own CV (only my opinion of course).

My worry is the good work done by Moyes to get us competing around the top group of the PL could all be undone in just a couple of seasons. I understand what you say when we don't want to chopping and changing every few years but if he's not the right then he's not the right man, no amount of time given to him is going to change that, only possibly make it worse for us. Record points last season doesn't wash for me this season as the losses we have made this season far outweigh the gains made last season. This was in many eyes supposed to be our best squad since the 80's and he has got it badly wrong. This for me is where he fails at a club of our size. I just don't think he's good enough. He's certainly not the man to take us on from Moyes but then again we probably couldn't attract that sort of manager which is why we took the chance with him.

When Moyes left I would have been happy with Mark Hughes and nothing has happened since for me to change my mind.

Is there still one or two plotters knocking about. Thought we eradicated them all in the great plotter cull of 2015

I am not a plotter! I have always stated we would not be relegated. I have also stated I am not convinced on what I have witnessed this season that RM should be our manager for the next decade. You and others only look at last season without recognising what has happened this season so if I am classified as a plotter you should be classified as blind.

Oh goodness the dreamers have surfaced.

Like wise you and some others should look at what he did last year and what he brought. He deserves a chance to put it right, theres been several reasons for this season and its not all on him. Sure He could be a failure then again he could get us back to last seasons form but he needs patience and a chance to sort it out. Thankfully we're a club that does it that way so hopefully things get better

I do mate but I do not dwell in the past in like some who go on and on about our EX look at the thread in the Alehouse! But the reality is the collapse this season and the apparent failure to get a grip and change (remember in his words he is not for change). Signings okay Besic and McCarthey good dos, but Alcaraz, Kone, McGeady and Barry!!! well leave it to you. Looks like you can add Cleverley to that crap list by all accounts.

But time will tell and the last few games.

The words of a true plotter.

He has got a grip of it, took him a while but its shown hes become less stubborn in terms of style. As i said, not all of its on him, but what is hopefully hes learning from it, him and the team grinding games out recently gives me encouragement that hes taking that on board. Hes never been at a club our size with the demands and pressures that come with it, this season is as much a learning curve for him.

On that basis are you saying his first season was lucky?

I supported Moyes and always will, but his best work for us always seemed to be after Xmas and in most cases we were always playing catch up....I thought the job was to big for Moyes as he didn't have the mentality to go for games when we needed too, I am not sure if he had the killer instinct the top managers have.
As for Mark Hughes, you have to be joking
This man escaped relegation as QPR manager as Bolton couldn't beat Stoke on the last day of the season, he spent millions on crap. As Man City manager again he spent millions on crap, and got them nowhere.
Take a look at his record and tell me how you could opt for him over RM....I despair as you appear to be one of these people who don't like him and it doesn't matter what he does you will never like him
