I supported Moyes and always will, but his best work for us always seemed to be after Xmas and in most cases we were always playing catch up....I thought the job was to big for Moyes as he didn't have the mentality to go for games when we needed too, I am not sure if he had the killer instinct the top managers have.
As for Mark Hughes, you have to be joking
This man escaped relegation as QPR manager as Bolton couldn't beat Stoke on the last day of the season, he spent millions on crap. As Man City manager again he spent millions on crap, and got them nowhere.
Take a look at his record and tell me how you could opt for him over RM....I despair as you appear to be one of these people who don't like him and it doesn't matter what he does you will never like him

Conveniently leave out Wales, Blackburn and Fulham. He was on a hiding to nothing at City (as Moyes would have been if it was us who got the injection of cash). Also I think Gary Cook had a lot to do with his failings as well. QPR I will give you but the nob of a owner was equally to blame. When Moyes left I wanted a manager with experience rather than take a chance with a young one. We had done that 11 years earlier as we didn't really have a choice but we are not that club any more. Would Hughes have been an improvement over Moyes? Probably not but it wouldn't have been a step back. Martinez was and still is a gamble we didn't need to make.
As for wanting him out because I don't like him is ridiculous. I think he's a nice man, got nothing against him at all. My issue is I don't think he is up to the job. Nothing to do with liking him or not.

I never count managing a International team as not the same as league management.
I didn't forget Fulham as 11 mths doesn't warrant a mention
Also Blackburn he done well, but what a horrible kick and run, over physical team

Hughes believe me was a far bigger gamble than RM, and if anything a worse track record especially spending money ( take a look at his signings. You will not believe them)

You would of had a better argument if you would of said Pullis as your choice

Mark Hughes

RIP GoTkipper puts everything into perspective

Wouldn't have employed him in the first place. He did nothing in my eyes to warrant the Everton job. He won a cup yes but got the same team relegated at the same time which outweighs the cup win for me. If you look at his seasons at Wigan it was always around this time he strung a few results together to make him them safe. His last season he put a cup before safety in a way maybe to add to his own CV (only my opinion of course).

My worry is the good work done by Moyes to get us competing around the top group of the PL could all be undone in just a couple of seasons. I understand what you say when we don't want to chopping and changing every few years but if he's not the right then he's not the right man, no amount of time given to him is going to change that, only possibly make it worse for us. Record points last season doesn't wash for me this season as the losses we have made this season far outweigh the gains made last season. This was in many eyes supposed to be our best squad since the 80's and he has got it badly wrong. This for me is where he fails at a club of our size. I just don't think he's good enough. He's certainly not the man to take us on from Moyes but then again we probably couldn't attract that sort of manager which is why we took the chance with him.

When Moyes left I would have been happy with Mark Hughes and nothing has happened since for me to change my mind.

I,m sorry but Mark Hughes mate ffs. Stoke is the right place for Mark Hughes, he's thouroughly unpleasant as are the fans and their style of play. Hughes is pond life and hopefully will stay at Stoke for a long time.

We are were we are now and nothings going to change next season so I hope he gets it right and makes me eat humble pie. So it's just wait and see. I suppose part of the point I was trying to make was that we were constantly finishing in the top 8 of supposedly the best league in the world and we felt the need to take a chance on a young manager again. There should have been managers queuing around the corner for the job.

Never have Pulis. He will get a crap team playing better but that's about it. I can't see him taking a top half team forward.

Hopefully we can think of finishing at 5th or higher and back in Europe, is that not what you would like or do you have a different vision?

Europe with a squad more equipped to cope with it would be preferred, but with mid table mediocrity ensuing I doubt that it would be sustainable or attainable. Need financial backing now or we will be perennial nearly rans !

As predicted, they're back in their bunkers again.

I expect we may see a couple of them reluctant to go back in if we suffer any poor result in the last 6 games, but Operation Valkyrie will have to be put off for another season.
The plotters have the ace up their sleeve in Roberto and his management skills
