Ross Barkley should play number 10, every single game.
That won't happen. If he moves from United, he'll go to a slower league like Italy and play for Juventus or something. He's a bit overrated anyway, something of a luxury player.

That's exactly right, imo. He's not suited, as you say, for that role in between the lines, you need to be looking to lay it off almost as soon as you get the ball; Ross is a player who like the ball at his feet, space ahead of him and opponents to accelerate past/slalom past.
The three at the back has me nervous as a system, tbh. I always think it's a recipe for disaster when you play decent teams...as Liverpool found out yesterday.

Then on matchday you pick a team of talented footballers in a balanced formation, team talks are easy, "Give the ball to Ross, win the game", give Kone a slap as you leave the dressing room and if you feel anybody isnt pulling their weight you call a timeout and give them a proper kicking on the touchline.

Yes it is a one touch position. While lots of people dislike Osman it is a position that suits him massively, as he often has a "picture" before the ball arrives at his feet. I think Martinez has tried to shift Barkley into that role this season and in all honesty it has knackered his confidence.
He needs to get back to what he is good at, which is running at players from deep, shooting and assisting on the counter attack. I don't think Barkley is a particularly intelligent footballer and does not adapt well to other roles, I'm not sure that's something that can be coached and he'd be better sticking to what he's good at.
As for the back 3, well maybe. I suppose it is about getting the right players to fill the positions. Liverpools back 3 with Skirtl and Sakho are not comfortable on the ball enough. Right wing back is also a problem for them. I think they also lack a player like a Barkley/Gibson who can make it tick in midfield.

True that. But seeing he hadn't up until a couple of weeks ago at least he saw the writing on the wall. Slow and over confident in a lot of areas our youth couldn't follow the master plan. The back passes absolutely killed us.
