but england's not what it used to be though is it mate? Look at all the top teams in the prem atm. Driven mostly by foreign talent par Rooney at United. Hazard, Costa, Oscar, etc for Chelsea. City's only contributing UK player is Hart. Alexis Sanchez carried Arsenal through most of the season.

*england still has way more talent than the US so please dont turn this into that kind of argument* The fact is UK is falling behind alot of other Euro nations and South America

England as a footballing team is beyond terrible, but England as a Nation still produces top class talent, its silly to suggest otherwise.

A disastrous night in a very poor season but I am prepared to wait until next season to judge him.

Whilst I agree this season has been a débâcle albeit some memorable European nights, this squad is pretty decent.
We have some excellent young players in Barkley, Stones, Lukaku, Besic, McCarthy, some players in their prime in Baines, Coleman and Mirallas and some very experienced players coming towards the end in Jagielka, Barry and Howard.
During the summer Distin and Alcaraz will most definitely be gone and without the European adventure, some good investment in younger players and the promotion of a few youth players we can once again be playing in the top regions of the league.
Now let's not forget where a certain Mr Moyes finished on his third full season.

I'll agree Distin and Barry; thats about it. Howard has always been touch and go throughout his career, but i'll give you him as well.

What we've witnessed his all these played regardless of there form; including Howard regaining his place after some impressive performances from his understudy, play week in week out. Distin loosing his place first but after some really awful performances, only to ve replaced by Alcaraz, a man who we all know to be an utter shambles of defender

We also struggled for the majority of the season and this was not addressed in the January transfer window.

The football on offer is slow and boring with no width and no heart or fight from the players

Not saying Martinez hasn't made mistakes. Many this season that have frustrated me.
Lets just give him a chance to show something next season.

I fully admit, I've gone from belief to hope on that one.

I think he's a better gamble on doing so than a replacement but I'm no longer convinced he will do.

Depends what you class as top talent, we produce some very good players but there not a patch on some of the players spain, germany etc produce. Just we seem to overhype british kids

what worries me most is the below; take away last season just to show the comparison (plus i believe it was a fluke of old and new creating a perfect storm). Anyway I've foretasted the remainder of our games till the end of the season.

I believe @kithnou was, I apologize if he wasn't. Someone posted about us having a ton of internationals and many of them do play for England and Ireland (Ross, Baines, Jags, Stones, James, Seamus, Mcgeady, Gibson, etc)
