The whole EL this year, apart from most of last night, has been brilliant. I for one have loved every minute, almost, of it. Seeing Blues arranging the travel, random fans from abroad popping up on here, most of the games, has been brilliant. And lest we forget, he got us there.

Yep I've loved it all hence why it's absolutely gut wrenching to see us get knocked out in that manner last night. This season in the league has been a farce but I've enjoyed the European games, especially because they were my son's first games as well old enough at 6 to get an idea of European teams and how far clubs travel and aggregate scores etc. It's been a great distraction from our poor poor premier league performances.

HAHA, I love the idea that he actually thinks he's being scathing but he's been taught english badly.

Phenomenal means in serious need of improvement, right?

Maybe my grievance is more with his consistent choice of superlatives in his description of our season, regardless of our overall performances.

In essence I no longer trust his assessments. Thinking objectively then the overall experience has obviously been positive, if to a degree.

The non-football related aspects are all brilliant as you mention, and some of the games have been enjoyable and brought some pride.

Nevertheless, I still cannot let myself go much beyond this, due to the fact I believe the Europa has been detrimental to our league form.

Wolfsburg at home was a good result, but luck played a huge part. Krasnodar and Lille were solid performances although nothing more.

Furthermore, the ghastly attempt of Martinez to justify the tepid performance last night just adds to the sourness of it all.

Eventually, when everything has settled I will probably look back at the campaign with more pride. Until then the disappointment is just too much.

Losing isn't even the issue, rather just how lacklustre we were and how Martinez still attempts to put some form of shiny gloss on it all.

Come out and say we were (add your choice of expletive) and I'd be much more relieved; trying to big it up just heightens my disenchantment.

Not to worry next time there will be a winter break for us - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31992279

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't he take his team on a nice little "winter break" after Hammers knocked us out the Cup?

And we have since had a further two blank weekends due to that elimination.

Stone the flaming crows but that man is making a fool of himself every time he opens his gob these days.

OkOkoKoKoKokoK.

I honestly dont know what I want, im struggling to make my mind up, on 1 hand is last season, the performances, the belief, the forward thinking, going to Old Trafford and going toe to toe with a massive side, thats proper pony these days, but still, it meant a lot to get that monkey off our back, we then went to Analfield and rolled around while we got our arse tickled, ive said it before, but the alarm bells rang for me in January, I recall having a few exchanges with a certain @chicoazul, who said I should think of the long game, I should have ignored the threat of Spurs and United spending bucket loads to get back.

Last season we had a REAL chance of joining footballs elite and claiming 4th, but instead of kicking on, instead of making a real show of intent we signed an injured striker, who lets face it didnt help us a single bit. Alarm bells for me, it showed a lack of footballing IQ, but the season ended and in the end I suppose you could say, given our points total, we were unlucky not to claim 4th.

I honestly dont know whats happened this season, the players should take their share, but the tactics and the team selections have been on the main utterly shocking, no balance, no direction and a lack of motivation from numerous players every single week, ive waited all season for last seasons Everton to come back, but its gone and whats left is a team that currently sits in 14th, got knocked out of both domestic cups in the "first" round and had a superb run in Europe only to be knocked out due to a having a manager that simply does not have a clue how to pick a side in order to match the occasion.

So do I want him sacked? God knows, if I woke up tomorrow and he had resigned I think I would be happy tho. So no, im not asking for him to be sacked, nor do I want to resign, but if either thing was to happen, I dont think I would care.

Guys, I'll say this once more and leave it at that, at no point is he going to be sacked

If we're still in the mess we are come December, the supporters anger may force him to resign, but he won't be sacked

As someone mentioned earlier, they may come to a "mutual agreement" to part ways, but at no point will Bill wield the sack hammer

Barring relegation this season ( highly unlikely ) I'd say that's true. The only other way I can see Martinez leaving before then is if he gets a toxic reception at the end of season parade after the Spurs game, and that ain't going to happen.

...the little QATAR break? That one. The hastily lobbed together one (BARNES TRAVEL £119pp or sumfin) in order they 'regroup' AKA think of a way to deflect from the utter shambles of the MIRALLAS penalty doings? From which they came back and everything was 'groovy' having had a nice big chat, a couple of cocktails & a kick-about...

I'm sure he's a lovely man, Father & Husband. That said though, he's an utter weapon, a one trick-pony that's read FAR too many positivity manuals and absorbed WAY too much waffle from them. It's now actually REALLY embarrassing, where I once thought him a breath of fresh air I now find him really, REALLY difficult to watch and listen to...

He just makes me go 'Pfffffffffffffffff...........'

The Boob.

I've been a stalwart, but any remaining support from Bobby is increasingly more out of hope than expectation. I think he has seriously lost his way this season. When the pressure on, he seems paralyzed. A telling symptom of that has been his inability to make bold personnel changes in terms of subs and keeping faith with in-form players: it's like he does the reckless, but misses the obvious. Feel we will have a hard time retaining players and the feel-good factor is very much gone, which makes it hard to attract new players. I'm invested in what I wanted his regime to be, rather than what his reign really is: which is looking defensively frail and one dimensional. All that said, I don't think the alternatives are inspiring and some of them are downright horrible: Allardyce? Reid? Bruce? I actually would have gone with Pulis with the hope that a better team would see his team's style of play improve. I thought his Palace looked good. But it's too late for that now.

The season got off to the worst possible start and it's never recovered. It's been dire.

Though there's a lot I like about the man, he's doing an awful lot wrong. What gets me the most though, above all the other garbage, its the man's inability to call a spade a spade. When we play like a bunch of half arsed turds, or defend like we're a bunch of under 12s, I want him to come out and say THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH. Not even hang anyone out to dry necessarily, just acknowledge to the fans, for once, that what the team served up was utter utter garbage.

Everton. The nearly club yet again. Never seems to end that.

Had our points total and the way we were playing last season, somehow be this season, we would be pretty much nailed on to not only finish in the top 4 and the lucrative CL, but maybe even finish behind Chelsea.

The way City and Utd are playing currently, nothing is concrete. Last season's Everton would easily qualify and possibly have pushed Chelsea had it been this.

The nearly club. Wrong place wrong time.
