Last three games are WWL. If we get a win on Sunday how can that be seen as anything other than good form and this all to be a massive over reaction? Personally, if we get a draw at QPR it'll have got the 4 from 6 points target I had for us this time last week. Another win after that pretty much puts a terrible season to bed.

I cant understand the fuss, I really cant. It's all shocking 'entitled' behaviour in my opinion.

Bad season > bite the bullet and take the pain.

Is it really that hard or do people think it's x-factor and they have the right to vote off an Everton manager each week?

I dont think we will go down. And bad seasons, well, happen. I am supportive of him, but last night just scared the life out of me.

Just seems a common sense approach really and one that seems reasonable to both parties. Anyone who still thinks Martinez has a future at our club is deluded in my opinion. His methods just do not work, the biggest shocker for me is how the players appear on the pitch, they look uninspired, confused, something is not right and has not been for most of the season, when he goes it will all come out in the press, much like Moyes exit from Man u

Ah man. Thought you knew something.

Common sense and Everton doesn't usually work together mate.

I think he will be allowed to have a dignified exit. This season has been awful, I think he is hugely flawed, and the job was to big for him. I also think he is a nice bloke who we took a chance on. It was always a gamble to employ a manager who got his last team relegated. I think he will be allowed to finish the season and we will part company, not sacked, but `mutual consent`. The five year contract will have clauses in and the board will use them. As a club we need to move on quickly, get a new man at the helm, and try to keep our best players and explain things are going to be different under a new man.
fair enough but I just can't see it unless we somehow went down. After the year he had last year which led to his extension I doubt theres many cheap or easy clauses in his deal, would probably need to pay a fairly large amount. Whether that's the smart thing to do remains to be seen.

He's a European novice. I think people forget that. He's Spanish and therefore 'must know the score' is I think the attitude.

Well, for a first season in European management I think he more than passed the test, despite last night. Who couldn't?

I don't know what to think about Martinez, but I'll tell you what I find embarrassing - the fact that this poll says 70% of us want him out (the day after we've lost), the poll after Newcastle on Sunday (after we'd won) said 64% of us wanted him in and then the previous poll before that on the day after the Stoke game (after we lost) said 61% out.

Is that seriously the difference one individual result makes?

Embarrassingly fickle and goes to show how pathetically knee-jerk some people are

That's annoyed me almost as much as Alcaraz, Jags and Coleman last night.

You'd have to be looking at the polls at the same stages after they were published to compare them properly. The initial fume and heavy numbers wanting him gone after a defeat from people who watch the team usually adjusts in his favour, as less reactive/more naive "fans" come on to cast votes in support of the joker. As indeed numbers on this poll are doing

Oh sure. Taking the whole campaign into consideration, no doubt at all in my mind. Which made last night so weird to me. A lad in the match thread put it really well.

To paraphrase, "we would have gone through with a 0 0, we conceded 5"

And I know, hit the post twice, utter brain freeze, well 3, by one defender, 2 worldies by them, but the set up contributed to that last night. That is what I was scared by.

In fairness it's pretty stupid to fire a manager even after he has won one game. If you where going to fire him why would you wait until after the team win.

That poll should have been 100%.

Showing my age here but pretty sure we fired bingham after a 2-0 home win against stoke

It's fair criticism too. I said earlier we needed to go with three holding in midfield early and get ourselves a hold in the game.

It's all part of the learning curve though.

Lets hope he is learning. Think he is if the last 2 homes were his doing........

We need to back this feller 100%.

Season's a write off. I think we all get that. No one is happy. Some are sick of people defending Martinez and others are sick of the attacks on him. We all get it. It's happened and we have to live with it and move on.

If we got rid of Martinez after what happened here last season it would be as alarming as it would be shameful.

Agree. Still scary though.

LOL

And if we retain a Manager that has 2 wins in the last 20 games we would be the biggest joke in the league.
