Martínez is transforming Everton

Barry is a better screen for the CBs, imo. I think McCarthy has the potential to turn into a more offensive player than he shows right now. He is getting in more advanced positions, but I think his mentality is still overwhelmingly to sense and snuff out danger.

I think the RS played 4-1-3-2 yesterday. When the onus is on us to break down the opposition I would like to see Martinez sacrifice a holding midfielder for another striker. If Lukaku and Jelavic were occupying the centre backs it would give more opportunity for Barkley, Osman or Mirallas to ghost in on the edge of the box.

What happened to the passing game? when you have the likes of Jag still doing hoofball. Looking at the game how many sideways passes do you see. I always though the idea was to move towards the opponents goal.

We can only pass it forward if our forward players create space for themselves, which they haven't really been doing. If no pass is on, a hoof is the only real option.

There is a difference between a hoof and a long pass and whilst I'm not suggesting jags is a cultured long range passer he's certainly not been guilty of excessive hoofing this season.

Can we just forget about him?

He's the past. Thankfully.

If we are ever to play 2 upfront... I'd rather it be Mirallas or Naismith alongside Lukaku.

4411 with Barkley and Lukaku on attacking duty.

Stones Jagielka Distin Baines
Coleman McCarthy Barry Mirallas

You think chucking John Stones in at RB for the derby is a good idea?

Not so sure about this one Orange-Cat-Head

Disappointed not to win yesterday, but after today's games looks a good point, impressed with 3 clean sheets in a row, we're coming out of all games with points consistency is key it's a long season.

6 clean sheets in the first 11 games this season, as opposed to just 2 clean sheets in the first 11 games last season under Moyes.

I know - let's change the back four! That's our main problem isn't it, the defence...

I don't see the logic of dropping Pienaar and pushing Coleman back into midfield. Seamus was great when he first burst on to the scene in that position but he became less effective as he went on. It would seem like a Moyes-esque thing to do when we also have Deulofeu available.
