Martínez is transforming Everton

We could play Mirallas up top with Lukaku but i'm not too keen on that idea either really.

I'm still annoyed he dropped/rested Barkley. Really think a lot of our problems started there.

3,5,2 is the way we need to go.

It's working well for the sh*te vs the poorer sides. I'd like to see mirallas and lukaku up front, but we'd need to send the ball to them much quicker. Our build up play is so predictable sometimes, and we end up playing against a 11 man defense because we're too busy sideways passing in midfield.

Agree about Barkley. He scares defenders when he's dribbling past people and gaps open up. We had nothing through the middle vs palace, it felt like Osman just wasn't there.

Is right, Lukaku does,nt have the game to hold up the ball and link play for 90 mins and mirallas is a liability outwide so hook them up and watch the goals fly.

Mark my words, we will see a change to 3,5,2 soon enough.

Im not sure how you work that out, I mean scoring goals is the problem, how does adding another CB solve that problem?

3-5-2 is a way of getting the full backs more involved into the attacking phase, im not sure which Everton you have been watching but we have the 2 most attacking full backs in world football.

The problem at the moment is that all our "flair" players seem to have ran into terrible form at the same time and the tempo appears to have turned to a walking pace in terms of attacking, we need to step up the tempo and hope that Mirallas, Lukaku, Barkley, Pienaar find some real form and find it quickly.

Cmon we all know that this season baines and coleman have been a shadow of last season in terms of high tempo and attack.

It,s Martinez everton, he wants to score more from open play and his problem is that osman and steven dont have the leggs and barkley is still finding his feet with the beast not able to link up play or hold the ball up for 90mins.

Martinez should swallow his pride and give baines and coleman free reign down the wings and put kevin up top to support the beast.

For now I think it's a simple as needing to work on movement and being patient with Lukaku as he is our main man but is far from a top notch lone front man/link player. Thankfully he at least scores goals when you do get him in the area.

I think Martinez too will be more inovative with formations and such once he has a squad that matches what he feels he needs.

The other main point is the simple one yeah, too many players not in form.

Dropping Barkley was the start of this 'bad form' IMO.

It also allows you to play 2 up front and eases the defensive responsibility of the centre of midfield. I don't think baines or Coleman have looked that dangerous recently either.
