Personally I think McCarthy can do that job on his own. Barry has done well but it's like we are missing an extra attacking player when we go forward!
Or the attacking options are not good enough

6 clean-sheets this season after 11 games and 3 in a row now.
Last season we kept 9 clean sheets. From game 7 to game 15 we only won 1, lost 1 and drawn the rest.
We're doing fine so far and Martinez is doing fine. We are where we're expected to be (roughly).
It's not as if he took over the league champions and has already ruined their title chances ffs.
Do you realise that plastering everything you post with half naked women only makes you like a hugely-closeted homosexual?

You're going to cry over what you think is a closet homosexual?

We've conceded 10 so far in 11 games. Having two CMs who dont get forward that often must contribute to that. Tinker with it and it might expose Jagielka/Distin, who play miles apart these days.
But you answer your own question, really. When Barkley plays we have a blend in that area, as Barkley is a good pivotal player between the CMs and the likes of Lukaku and Mirallas. - he has the pace and strength to funnel back and carry the ball forward. The system makes no sense with Osman in there instead of barkley. Martinez surprises me that he doesn't see it.
RM needs to sort out his tactis as well as team selection.
What happened to the passing game? when you have the likes of Jag still doing hoofball. Looking at the game how many sideways passes do you see. I always though the idea was to move towards the opponents goal.
