Lukaku

Centre forwards usually turned to 5hite after one season at Everton under Moyes, so perhaps it's a good thing we've only got him for a year.

My corrections in bold, mate.

Only way we get him is we get CL and we have £30 mill to blow

Yep. We don't need to sell Ross (or the club) to get him. We just need to qualify for the Champions League. The extra money that brings in will fund our bid. With the two Manchester clubs with new managers, and Jose proving once again that you should never go back, the race for the top 4 slots is extremely open this season. Spurs and Liverpool have as much chance as us, and perhaps only Arsenal are a solid bet to definitely make top 4.

We make top 4, we keep Lukaku.

Excellent read that. Much better than the one I just read (which has barely any direct quotes from the man):

How mad is it that Lukaku and Barkley played against each other when they were 12 in a tournament in Belguim 7 years ago?

epic that, innit!

He's only 20. We sign him for £16-£18m this summer (only a year left on his deal I think?) and sell him to Madrid ages 24/25 for £50m.

That's a crap attitude, lad. I'm sure Rom wouldn't like reading guff from blues like that, as if football's only about making profits.

I prefer this scenario: we sign him for whatever-it-takes and keep him forever.

Look at the successful clubs of the last 15 years: they all had a world-class striker who stayed for the bulk of their career: Henry for Arsenal, Rooney for Man Utd, Drogba for Chelsea. These strikers were absolute key for the success of their clubs, and they've become amongst the most prolific goalscorers in their clubs' history.

It's about time we had a striker like that at our place...in it for the long run and chasing Sharpe's tally.

I find it brilliant that two of the best 20 year olds in world football currently play for the toffs!!!

I wouldn't say "world football" just yet, mate. Without showing what they can do on the European or international stage we'll just have to content ourselves with two of the best 20 year olds in the Premiership, which is good enough for me.

What does that mean? I could urban-dic it, but it's more fun this way.

Anyone genuinely think we can snag him? I would love it.

Et'o signed a one year deal probably to allow Romelu to progress more, but they do have a record of allowing youngsters to go like Sturridge, I doubt Torres will remain there much longer which puts focus on romelu even more if he does as well for us as WBA

And my gut thoughts are any fee will involve some ridiculous request for Ross as exchange or a fee plus Ross

No way we can afford the £20m+ being discussed alone

i think everybody knows this is one season only. So lets enjoy it.

Conversely i think the better we do the less likely we will be able to get him back on loan, Chelsea vetoed Ba moving to Spurs or Arsenal because they viewed them as rivals.

We've already taken points of Chelsea, they will be hoping we can do the same to City, Arsenal, Norway and Utd with him in the team. There is a strategy that they hope benifits Chelsea in loaning him to us, obviously he cant play against them but can against there other rivals and we are traditionaly a team that takes points of the CL teams. Loaning him to us suits and helps Chelsea.

What ever chance of a further loan, a permo i would think is out of the question, one of the best young players in world football. If we are in the CL i dont think they would let him come back as it means we're a direct rival.

Interesting Mourhinos comments yesterday on his loan and not regretting it, "Its one thing playing for Everton its another, playing for Chelsea" which is a slight and prob means he doesnt see us as challengers for the CL spots.

No, I think he was referring to one club being steeped in history with a passionate and appreciative fan base and the other allowing players to shoot the work experience kid with an air rifle. That's how I interpreted it.

I think Chelsea underestimated us as we had 3 points from 3 games when the loan was agreed. We can certainly threaten the top four. Finish in those spots and Lukaku might stay, especially as he and Ross are still developing as players yet seem to have clicked.

( Dagbladet ) : There is no doubt that Romelu Lukaku is one of the hottest names on fotballøya currently .

Two weeks ago he put the winning goal at West Ham , and on Monday he lowered Newcastle almost single-handedly with two goals and an assist pass before the fire .

Many people have asked about what José Mourinho thinking when he lent the young Belgian to Everton on deadline- day , but even he stands firm that he did not regret .

Considering that the 20- year-old has scored six goals in their last five Premier League appearances , many of those as a substitute ( an average of 37 minutes between goals ), it is a little hard to believe. In any case, as Chelsea's basically dangerous goalgetter so far this season has scored 0

0.1 tons goalscorer
The most striking of the young striker , his enormous physique. If we are to believe Wikipedia is he 1.91 in stocking feet , and weighs 100 kg not insignificant . 0.1 tons with only one goal , to finish . And he can do in many ways .

Last year he scored no less than 17 times on loan to West Bromwich , and the most impressive is that his goals are relatively evenly distributed between right , left foot and head.

It's no wonder people are just as impressed . And it has resulted in a new trend on Twitter. " Facts " about Romelu Lukaku .

Heavy testicle
Just as with other personalities that are tougher than average (see Chuck Norris ) , Lukaku is awarded credit for both the one and the other.

One example is that he should have taken his mother home from the hospital after their birth . He will even have cut his own umbilical cord in addition to being naturally waterproof .

The rumor that a sneeze from the young Belgian is why Tower of Pisa is the skjeive battle, and Ghosts sit around the campfire at night and tell stories about him .

The more extreme is that his left testicle weighs more than Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, and that Lukaku is why today we have giraffes . How? He should have given a horse a solid uppercut .

Impressive Resumes
There is , however, not only in the fictional world Lukaku has an impressive resume.

According to goal.com talking 20 -year-old six languages fluently. Congolese , French , Dutch , English , Portuguese and Spanish.

He also said in an interview with the Daily Mail that he sees every Premier League match on DVD to learn from their mistakes .

goal.com is the worst site ever

I'm pretty sure he doesn't fluently speak Spanish/Portuguese. Also Congolese is not even a language

Very poor second half performance from him, but he scored again, and someone posted this great pic in the match thread:

I think he's brilliant, but I wish we had other forwards capable of providing us with something.

It's asking a lot for a 20 year old kid (no matter how good he is) to lead the line for us all year.
