Lukaku

He scores yes but, his first touch, the weight of his passes, his in ability to beat defenders in the air from howards goals kicks and his link up play are seriously bad.

I know it goals that is the important bit but he needs to improve his all round game.

I can't believe he's being slated on here, the lads only 20 ffs and already has 2 full seasons of PL experience under his belt.

It's like saying. Ross isn't good enough because of his crap decision making and lapses in possession at times, it's just down to their age bringing inconsistency to their play.

Lukaku is a beast and has all of the attributes required to make a top drawer striker. Yes, there's some areas of his game the the needs to continue working on, but if there's a chance than we could sign him for less the £20m then we need to be doing all we can to make that happen

Talking of Darren Bent os he still a Villa player but on loan at fulham? How long on his contract I wonder?

Lukaku / Bent / Kone / Naismith would be pretty strong indeed + Traore on loan to add to it. Other than Kone they would all bring goals to the table.
...Kone will bring goals.

I don't think anyone slated him as much as we have thought. Think people are comparing the alleged fan figure of £20m being banded around as too much when the other fan figure of £15m for Bones is cheaper.

You should know fans take their fan figures very serious as if it's their own cash.

Lukaku would be a monster in a team that breaks quickly. I'm glad Chelsea wouldn't sell to Liverpool as he would score a shed full for them.
Players suit systems and I don't think he would reach his full potential playing at a Everton under Martinez.

He does score goals so i suppose that's the main thing, losing the ball the amount of times he did yesterday could cost a team i.e the likes of Chelsea the Champions League when there playing a very tight and well schooled team, there is positives and negatives

Jose would be daft to let him go, and sadly, Jose isn't daft. IMO, they won't sell him.
Nah, they'd sell him. He wouldn't play many games at Chelsea, and like Mata they'll want to cash in on him. Who knows how much they'll want but I think we've got to do everything we can to get him. He loves it here so we've got a great chance.

Imo, Lukaku will cost around 25mil, when you consider the media buzz around him, as well as the fact that he is a proven 20 year old goal scorer. However he will have just 2 years on his contract this summer I believe, and so we should throw in ~20mil bids.
People saying Bent should play are mad imo, mate who watches Fulham play near to every week says he is poor, wishes they didn't have him. Says it all really that they thought Berbatov worked just as hard.
Next season, I can see Naismith being moved on for around 5mil so that we can fund both a Tadic-like player, as well as a main goalscorer to go with Kone and possibly Traore on loan. I think that with Europa League, we can see Kone be a success next year

Even if we wanted him and were prepared to meet Chelsea's asking price, I can't see him wanting to join a club not in the Champions League. Unfortunately.

The thing is mate only city and Chelsea prob guarentee CL footy these days. Utd, Liverpool, arse, spurs and possibly ourselves will all be fighting for 2 other spots year in year out.

The Telegraph are claiming Spurs and Newcastle are in for Lukaku in the summer too. Although their story also claims that we can only afford Lukaku in the summer if Chelsea want Barkley, which I'd hope is very wrong considering no January spend, player sales, new tv deal and Roberto's talk of saving money for the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have made Romelu Lukaku,Chelsea’s £25 million-rated striker, one of their top summer transfer targets.

Lukaku has spent this season on loan at Evertonand his goal against Swansea at the weekend was his 12th of the campaign.

Spurs were among a host of clubs interested in Lukaku last summer and chairman Daniel Levy made a cheeky offer to swap Emmanuel Adebayor for the 20-year-old.

Tottenham will make a more serious bid for Lukaku this year and hope to convince Chelsea to allow the player to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea will demand big money for Lukaku, who they signed for £17 million from Anderlecht in 2011, but Spurs would comfortably be able to offer the player an increase to his £40,000-a-week wages.

Despite uncertainty over whether head coach Tim Sherwood will be replaced at the end of the season, Spurs plan to sign three players – a striker, midfielder and defender – who can make an immediate first-team impact.

Tottenham failed with an £18 million bid for Christian Benteke last year, before signing Roberto Soldado for £26 million. The Spaniard has struggled to adapt, but has still scored 11 goals in all competitions.

Lukaku has scored one more club goal than his Belgium international team-mate Benteke this season and also netted 17 Premier League goals on loan at West Bromwich Albion last term.

Manchester United’s Javier Hernández and Queens Park Rangers’ Loïc Rémy, who is well known to Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield, are other options but Lukaku is ahead of them on the wanted list.

Rémy has been on loan at Newcastle this season and manager Alan Pardew hinted that he too is watching Lukaku.

Newcastle United face Everton and Lukaku on Tuesday night, and Pardew said: “I think he is a player a lot of clubs will be looking at in the summer. I don’t think Everton will get a free run at him.

“At the moment, it is a bit like we are with Loïc. It is a situation that Everton would love to keep him, as we would with Loïc, but those questions are really out of Everton’s and our control.”

Everton cannot afford to sign Lukaku permanently, although that could change if Chelsea follow up their strong interest in midfielder Ross Barkley.

Chelsea are yet to hold discussions with Lukaku about his future, but he does not want to return to Stamford Bridge to sit on the substitutes’ bench and will have two years remaining on his contract at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager, will sign at least one new striker, with Atlético Madrid’s Diego Costa top of his wanted list, and expects at least two of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba to leave. There is also interest in Lukaku from Atlético and Borussia Dortmund.

Mourinho may well be prepared to let Lukaku go if it allows him to sign his transfer targets, having already cashed in on Kevin De Bruyne in January and sold Juan Mata to Manchester United.
