My understanding is that he was signed as heir to Drogba's throne - well that was a player that was regularly the best CB on the field when it was defending a corner or free kick time.
Can't fault him on decision making without dragging loads of others into that mire as well. Him and Mirallas will go to the World Cup and if Spurs don't want him I'd have Dembele here to expand our Belgian contingent in a heart beat.
Back to us signing Lukaku, it'll depend if Chelsea spend large and who it could be because it wont be Rooney now. They'll move Torres and Eto'o on, so they might take him back for a season and use him with a marque signing. Who realistically are we vying for his permanent signature with in the PL?
