Lukaku

Young players a rarely anywhere close to the finiahes product. If they are they cost a fortune.

For me Lukaku is scoring at a much higher rate in this league than you would expect from a kid and I would be certain the frustrating flaws pointed out above will be worked on and ironed out.

I think this will make him a future 30m+ striker so if we can get him for 20m or less we should do it.
We have a regular goal scorer and people are saying don't buy him?

Are you MAD

Think it's all about the price we should buy him at mate, not that many have said swerve completely i don't think, either way my own opinion 15m then yes above that it depends on who else we could get for less, then again i said the same about Mccarthy that anything above 8-10m was too much and times shown me well wrong about that

I can only imagine what Lukaku would be like if an in his prime Tim Cahill was operating behind him.
Our last 20+ scorer was Yakubu, he enjoyed the space and reaped the rewards of Cahill's hard work, Lukaku is having defences double up on him, and he is carrying the majority of the burden of the physicality all on his own. Defences were in awe of Cahills aerial ability and for good reason, he had teams doubling up on him, especially at set pieces - what price, what success would that afford Lukaku in this side now.

...he might lose the ball, he might have the odd bad touch, but his record shows he scores goals. We've been crying out for that type, he is that type. Suppose its all down to how much will he cost, but if he ends up being our CF I wont be complaining. Young lad, reckon he can only get better.

Listen to Eggs lads. He knows what he is on about.

He's getting closer to his tally from last season, playing a whole new style and leading the line...it's nothing to sniff at, despite the things he can work at. Just like Ross, Stones and Seamus early on, I'm prepared to let him make his mistakes and learn. Whether Chelsea would sell and he would sign is a diff matter.

Hea not 21 till may.....yet barkley and stones are 20 and 19 still and are cut slack due to this. These 3 could really push us on for a decade.

How many does he have now in how many games?

11 in 22 in the league. 12 in 24 overall.

So a respectable and neat and tidy goal every two games for the youngster.

And the season before with WBA he had 17 I think ?

These are top clasd figures for a 19-21 year old In a new side 2 years on the spin....

For me I'd blow 25mil on him if we had it...imperative we keep him -- or Kone / naismith are left + no other player I can think of who has a decade in him and guarantees goals.

Screw it Zats, lets blow 50m on him.

Are you in?

IM IN

(Unless we can get someone more boss)

When Zats lays it out like that.....a decade of guaranteed goals....then I'm back over on the definitely side. Havng seen him this season flaws and all, and knowing he has to get better how can we say no to a guaranteed 15 goals a season minimum.

I think even the people saying we should go elsewhere would admit he is highly likely to keep scoring at this rate.

So the arguments against are his flaws, which as a confident kid he will be working on, and the pricetag which I am sure we would get back and then some if we did have to sell on at some point.
