Yup, I thought someone would bring up Sturridge. They got very lucky there. He's the exception, not the norm and they have enough money to be able to take gambles. For me, Lukaku is a top striker, he will score goals. A bad season for him would probably be 12 or 13 goals. He's worth 20 million. Infact, if Chelsea don't want him and he has a half decent WC, I can see someone spending 30 million on him. It sucks but that's the way the market is.

Look at his scoring record before joining them and you see it wasn't really a gamble. He always had it in him, he just hadn't been given the necessary game time. Wilfried Bony was signed for £12m and has banged the goals in for Swansea this season. Similarly, QPR picked up Loic Remy for a mere £8m and has scored goals aplenty in a very average Newcastle side.

There is value out there, plain and simple.

I don't think Mourinho will actually be that bothered about Rom. He knows he needs a new striker but I see him going for a big name, big money swoop for someone like Falcao. Bringing back a young player from a successful loan spell at a side lower down in the same league and smoothly overseeing his transition into a 'top' team is was too subtle for that blustering twunt.

I don't think Mourinho will actually be that bothered about Rom. He knows he needs a new striker but I see him going for a big name, big money swoop for someone like Falcao. I would be shocked if they don't bring in a 40M+ striker in the offseason. That being said Lukaku would be the 2nd best striker on that side.

Yeah I have no doubt Jose will spend big on a striker in the summer but you'd also think that Ba and etto will be out the door, maybe even Torres too. Unless Jose really doesn't rate lukaku can't see him letting him go when he'd be an excellent back up for them. There is rumours of drogba returning for a final fling tho.

Even if we don't get Lukaku I am glad we got to see him in the Jersey. He is is word class. He made that finish look easy last week. Many other players would blast it over or strait at the keeper. Seen as Baines fed him I knew it would take a world class save to stop him. I see him hitting form and giving us success. We deserve it. All these teams with strikers that actually score goals. Everton just for once could finish a season one of them.
