He made a point of repeating "I'm back" to the crowd after his goal

Regained confidence plus some time recouping energy...

I think he will finish this season with a bang

There's no excuse about the funds we have gathered 40 million since last August half of that should get lukaku. It's weather the board want to take the risk they should go for it after what's happened In the last 2 January windows

It's been said that he wants champs league football next season hasn't it? Although personally I can't see him being a starter every week for a champs league team. So it all depends what's more important to him. Getting the game time to accelerate his development, or a couple of appearances in the champs league.

We need to do everything we can to sign him. He's 20 and we know he can do it in the premier league, he can do it here at Everton and he won't need time to settle in.

I'd certainly pay over the odds just for that peace of mind. We know he's no Jelavic.

In the build up for his goal he asks for the ball about three or four times but he's either not spotted or players choose to go wide instead. I'm not sure whether some of the team don't realise how good he is or they want to shine on the ball themselves but, if Romelu is in acres of space anywhere near the penalty area getting it to him should be our top priority.

He showed his head by hanging back in space rather than joining everyone else in queuing up along the 6 yard line. I don't think I've seen him do that before, so maybe it's something he's been working on?

No doubt about it, he's an intelligent player in the making. He's beginning to read the game well.

I fear though, that even though posts above suggest Martinez will (quite rightly) bust a gut to try and keep him, and if by some miracle we find the cash, if we don't get 4th it's bye bye.

Sad like, but probably the way it is. I'd love him to stay and hope RM pulls it off. Go for it Bobby.

Groucho mate, I think Jose holds the whip hand here. If he says "welcome home Rom", Lukaku will be gone in a shot. If Jose says otherwise, we have the front seat in acquiring his services (spondoolahs willing)

I agree, but I would add that if we don't archive 4th it's all in vain.
