Origi and Sterling both handled, with ease, by Tony Hibbert.
Warms the cockles of your heart doesn't it?Origi and Sterling both handled, with ease, by Tony Hibbert.
Excellent post except Ross is undoubtedly going to be the best player since Zidane and I don't care what the French or anyone else thinks.I thought Origi started well against a rusty 36 year old Distin but then the defence got the measure of him and shepherded him out of danger a bit too easy. Understandable with him being young and he certainly has time to grow.
He's got some nice attributes and is a good athlete which helps his cause at 19 but I was a little bit amazed at how the commentators saw his performance. You'd think he'd torn Everton apart repeatedly.
As with all young players of obvious talent there's a whole circus of hyperbole around them, including our own lids for example: would you be impressed as a Lille fan on watching Barkley tonight? But its an annoying modern trend to declare them as being nailed on for world super status, usually by melts who play too much FIFA or Footie Manager, as if they've personally scouted them
The reasonable thing is to just see how they do, and let previous experience teach you that only time will tell.
But that's no fun online is it? Not if you're competing for attention. That Jose Baxter doh lar.
No mate, got to the stadium just after half time. By the time I got in managed to see the last 25 minutes.
Fantastic to see so many Blues in the stadium though.
If anyone ever doubted how big a club we are, and how deep the bond is between the club, supporters and the City of Liverpool, then look at tonight.
An amazing turnout, the cost and commitment by ordinary supporters warms the heart - the result is almost the icing on the cake rather than the cake itself.
Origi has attributes which reminds me of Thierry Henry ignore him if it makes you feel better about Lukaku but this lad is for real. He is no further away from the finished article as Lukaku is, that is clear in his control, the ability to work the defenders out across the backline, and his strength for 19 is awesome.
He is going to be a big player, already very good.
you're talking utter baloney, sorry. how can he be no further away from the finished article than lukaku?

pretty much all football fans around the world hadn't heard of origi until they saw him on the pitch in the world cup. lukaku is way further down the line in every area
That is what I like to refer to as a 'headshot.'you're talking utter baloney, sorry. how can he be no further away from the finished article than lukaku?

Oh you and your facts.
are you trying to call me Rafael? never been so offended
Apart from being rapid, skilful, excellent ball control and physically powerful for a 19 year old ?
The lad is going to be class. Lille tried to keep him under wraps but belgium knew he could do a job in the world cup and he did.
I'm gutted that lot got him. He's good enough to play for them now.
Give him time! He may learn that yet!The next El Hadji Diouf...
Without the spitting.
