As it happens he looked good when coming on. I do see him as an impact player right now. Eto with his control and experience is invaluable, Lukaku can take advantage of tired defences.

Ah the old 17 year year old let loose with paint shop jpegs. I love the way both of those pictures tell the whole story like how Lukaku went fishing in a barrell from 16-19 at anderlecht.

How he was pitched in his 2 loan seasons playing almost every game among the likes of Daniel sturridge who was on the Chelsea bench for all 2012 till he moved to Liverpool in the January.

Wierd the way it's not goals per game which would actually show him in far less favourable light. But hey, gotta make stats work for the argument, I get that.

Sorry, which club do you support? Confused.

A bit pedestrian, however after leaking goals for fun in our first few games, 2 clean sheets on the bounce is welcomed. Didn't think much to Lille to be honest and Origi has pace that's about it.
Thought Jags had a good game looked a bit more confident tonight. Eto'o isn't a lone striker and Barkley is allowed to be off the pace. All in all can't complain even if it was a snooze fest.

Oh good. Sarcasm. That always helps.

Potential? He outpowered, outpaced and tricked his way past the likes of Baines and Distin.

When the likes of Kompany says he will be one of the top 5 strikers in the world at the rate he's progressing then you know he's good.

Me? I just use my eyes and judgement, the lad has the lot. £10m is a steal. Lille tried to keep him under the radar as they rated him as a better potential player than Hazard. I knew this before the world cup as his inclusion raised eyebrows.
Sorry... You're talking tosh.... Once he outpaced a 36 ? Year old Distin throughout the whole game.... A Distin who hasnt played for weeks..... Once Distin got into the pace of the game he had origi in his pocket.... Outpaced him, out muscled him. Origi isn't bad but he's not as good as you're making him out to be.

For all that were saying Hibbo did well, it's just not Coleman. Hibbo got one shot off, can't remember much else of note. They targeted him time & time again so Jags always had to come across. Nonetheless, having McHeadless infront can't be good- I just don't see what he brings to the team.

....I thought Hibbert's was a solid performance. I have been critical of him and feared when I saw his name on the team sheet so I was happy with how it turned out. I don't think anybody is indicating he's a viable alternative to Coleman but he provided adequate cover last night.

His loan at West Brom he averaged a goal every 2 games and last season pretty much the same.
Divock Origi has scored 13 career goals in TOTAL, Lukaku scores that amount in one season with ease.

....he looked useful. His running style reminded me a bit of Welbeck. I wouldn't take Kompany's words as definite, seem to remember him waxing lyrical about a young Belgian defensive midfielder we were interested in a few seasons ago. Haven't heard of him since.

shame ITV never actually showed any of it! not once! all we could go on was the noise, no pan around the stadium like they do at every single klanfield match. so yeah, us at home couldn't actually see how much blues took up.

They mentioned it over and over that Everton took at least 10k, and that having the crowd would be a big deal to the players. They did show the fans and you could hear the noise. It's unlikely ITV were controlling the cameras, anyway. But, sure, another anti-Everton bias from the media, disgraceful.

His posting history shows him to be a blue that doesn't rate Rom.

I don't "unconditionally" rate him like 90% of fans. I see a player with an awful lot of development to be done if he is going to achieve the levels most already think he is at. Most posts are trying to temper the ridiculous excuses and OTT plaudits he receives.

Premier league defences know how to play him and he is struggling to adapt. The only way he will is to become a better "footballer".

It's essential he does improve in this regard as he is not going to be worth what we paid unless he does.

Odjija ofoe... At Norwich. Talented but loose cannon.
