no, it's not true. It's just your opinion. Sorry. My view is that Islam DOES need to be reformed. Again, I'm not absurd enough to claim my view is true, it's just an opinion.

Utter, utter twaddle. A mere ten seconds of research will show you that it (Salafism) is a reform movement; even the name should be a clue.

What makes it worse is that you are busily agreeing with them.

not true. You may hold the view that it is the reform of Islam which is causing the problem, but it's just your opinion. Forgive me, I've not seen too many headlines with 'Stop the Reform of Islam before it's too late'. No, don't think I've ever seen that. lI've seen legions of cries for reform though. So make of that what you will.
Do you know anything else about the religion than what you've seen in headlines?

I don't believe I even mentioned salafism. pretty sure I didn't . My point was Islam needs reform, yours was 'no cos salafism'. So I'm not making anything worse, just holding to my position, which I share with many others, that Islam needs reform.

like these terrorists, you absolute melt
get off that pin you'r dancing on you pompous bell end. the world and his wife knows about the reform that needs to happen with ISLAM, pretending this is an entirely new and false concept is just for the birds.

Since we seem to be using a miniscule minority to judge an entire religion's worshippers, I'd like to share a story about a girl I went to school with of Iranian descent. Her family were/are Muslim, including herself. Now, if you only go by what the newspaper/tabloid headlines tell you, the next part of my story will probably make you think this is fiction - it is not. She is gay now (as of 4 years ago), and has been in a loving relationship with another woman for years and her religious family accepts them with open arms.

I just wanted to add a bit of opposing light to the 'discussion' going on about how Islam apparently 'needs reform'.

Who was pretending this was "an entirely new and false concept"? Everyone who has spent any effort whatsoever in looking in to this understands where this strain of Islamic fundamentalism comes from and what they want to achieve.

The bizarre thing here is that you are blindly making the same argument they are...... "Islam must be reformed!!!!"

You'll have your finger in the air next.

Mate, come on. Numerous people have made cogent, cohesive and reasonable points in response to you without getting personal. You can’t just blindly repeat the same point and expect people not to get wound up with you behaving incredibly ignorantly.

Additionally, you do realise there are a lot of different forms of Islam, similar to Christianity having Protestants, Catholics etc who all have their own different takes on their religion, don’t you?

I hope that’s a rhetorical question otherwise you’re going to be sorely disappointed with the answer.

oh really?
thank heavens you're here to offer a neutral perspective and show me where I've been going wrong.
I see now that Islam doesn't need reform, and that it's best if we don't discuss the religion at all.
Let's just pretend none of the events of the last few says ever happened. If we avoid these difficult topics they might just go away with a bit of luck
