Lewis Holtby anyone remember this kid:
The Evertonian wunderkind captaining Germany under 21's could yet be eligible to represent England.
Lewis Holtby is the 20-year-old starlet setting the Bundesliga alight this season at unlikely leaders of the Bundesliga, FSV Mainz.
On loan from Schalke, the wide midfield man has earned plaudits all over Europe for maturity at the top level.
Holtby is of dual nationality, his dad is an Evertonian soldier from Liverpool who met Lewis'German mother while stationed Mönchengladbach.
And despite wearing the armband for Germany at U-21 level, the youngster could still be subject to an approach from Fabio Capello.
Holtby is reported to be an avid Evertonian who has dreamed of playing in England ever since his dad "infected him with the Everton virus" at the age of 5.
If Capello and the FA are going to lure the goal-scoring midfielder to England, they are likely to have to act fast with the German national squad becoming a successful greenhouse for the development of exciting talent in the ilk of khedira and Ozil.
