Most of us probably didn't expect Baines to be as awesome as he has become when we brought him in from Wigan to be fair....I think Seamus is going to be top, top drawer.
Your right that nobody could have anticipated how successful a signing baines would be but when we bought him he was 21 and had already made well over 100 appearances for wigan. In other words we knew his strengths just not their extent, and I'm pretty sure the primary of these was his crossing ability...Coleman is now 24 and is a very good player with his own strengths and they will improve but I do not foresee him creating the sheer volume of opportunities that baines creates with his style of play. In my opinion coleman is more mercurial than functional, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong
