i still think Real Madrid had watched Carsley and got them two confused! I remember reading the quotes from the press conference and thinking to myself 'thats not grav theyve just described its carsley' haha!

I think if we made Baines level or top earner he would sign straight away. He a genuiely top lad, only lives in Ormskirk so relocation not even an issue.

Played footy with him once on the old outdoor pitches in kirkby, he played in goal for the hour so he didnt get injured. Basically just took the piss out of everyone with 40 yard passing and shooting from inside his own area!

I wouldn't rule it out that he'll stay. But if it comes to it I think he'll leave on the basis of no recriminations from any party and Baines will not be seen as the instigator.

As I said, if it is to happen that way we need it done this week or sometime shortly thereafter. Martinez needs that cash and needs to know he has to plan for life after Baines.

More especially when you just touch for 4 years x £25M extra revenue.

I think the fight is half hearted tho, im pretty sure the Board and possibly the Manager would love to get in around 18m to spend. Despite the words from their mouths.
