DAVIDMOYES hasn't said he's going so don't worry, the club may speak to him this week when they are back in England. Something will get sorted

I think the board want to sell him mate, either that or RM will opt felli to leave if he does the cant be arsed attitude all pre season

Martinez said that he will be offering a contract to Baines and it will be one that he deserves, now maybe the club are waiting for the agent to get in touch, maybe Baines wants to see if he can join Man u first, or waiting for a bid to be accepted, its not worth offering a contract yet cos Baines got the upper hand and we pay over the odds, Man u might not want to pay over the odds for him so when the transfer window is closed, we will have the upper hand and offer a sensible contact not a desperate contact. Does this make sense?

Mate you are saying Baines should be sold from a business sense of view since he will be 30 next year and £18m is a fair deal. What is the difference with the Kone deal in that sense? He will be 30 and in 3 years time he will walk on a free. We are skint so this does not make any business sense for this club.

Okay, so what do you suggest we do for a striker then.

Bear in mind, a striker of the AGE and calibre you are talking about would cost £12m plus.

We bought Kone for the same reason Utd might buy Baines - because they are the best options for each club's respective aims at this time, regardless of age and 'sell on value'.

Personally I don't give a **** about sell-on value. I abhor the club's 'player trading policy as it is. Not receiving any money back for Kone might force the terrible board we have to invest some money into the club for new players.

Tbh what's the point offering Baines a contract whilst utd are sniffing around. IMO all your doing is then forcing Baines into making a decision of yes or no whether he wants to stay of go. If he delines the offer, everyone will know (inc utd) he wants to move on. Again IMO all our board should be doing is making Baines aware he's due a nice new fat contract. Once this utd rubbish goes away or Baines states his intentions, then get the contract sorted.

The board ain't always in the wrong as much as people like to jump on them for everything!

One thing I think is being overlooked with the Baines scenario.....his telepathy and ease of play with Pienaar is massive for our previous main threat. firstly, RM is likely to develop more orthodox offensive play using predominantly forward players, and more importantly Pienaar isn't the player he was. He was poor overall for parts of last season and IMO is not guaranteed a starting place this season - so does that reduce the effect that Baines is going to have on our style of play?

Also, with the massive strides Seamus made last season then just maybe we could cash in on Baines and transpose the Baines - Pienaar axis to the right hand side with Seamus and Kevin Mirallas.....younger, faster and different?

Just a thought like.

Baines is Baines. With or without Pienaar on form, Baines remains class.

I get where your going with that but Coleman will never replicate the level of service that baines provides, it's just not in his make up.

I actually think you have a very good point there.

It's all part of playing the game anyway. If we were to sell Baines, the object is to get as much money out of United as possible. To do this, they need to be a ) desperate; and b ) devoid of any ideas or notions of what Baines desires. If they know that Baines is absolutely gagging to join them, then they'll just take the piss until Septemer 2nd and put in a £13m bid the day before the deadline shuts. If they don't have a clue whats happening and/or there have been no public signs of Baines wanting out, then that forces their hand. They're probably not going away and we'll probably have to turn down another bid before this is all settled, one way or another.

We're back in England now for two weeks, the club need to tie him down now to a new deal in that time. Need to sign him up before they leave for the U.S.

Most of us probably didn't expect Baines to be as awesome as he has become when we brought him in from Wigan to be fair....I think Seamus is going to be top, top drawer.

What if DAVIDMOYES really is David Moyes. DAVIDMOYES has not broken any other stories recently.

This is like the ending to an episode of Scooby Doo but an episode were when they take the mask off the villain, he dry buggers shaggy and scrappy right up the rectum.
