Leeds, Leicester and the other small clubs.

Has anyone actually specified the legal basis on which any of these smaller clubs could sue Everton?

As others have said it would be almost impossible to prove their losses resulted from Evertons overspend. I assume there must be something in the premier league rules about it but haven’t seen anything where it’s spelled out.

I would assume that fines would not get included in FFP, i mean even the corrupt PL are not stupid enough to classify a fine as giving any sort of sporting advantage....

Fines must be classed as good spending to help a club stay financially solvent, as remember that's the whole aim of these rules, to not let another Portsmouth happen.

So for the 3 seasons that we've been sanctioned, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21...if you deduct 10 points off us ALL of those seasons we still would have stayed up....

If you take punish us the following year, only Burnley can sue us (Norwich and Watford still would have been relegated)...

If you punish us last season, 2022/23....only leicester can sue us, as Southampton and Leeds still have to be relegated...

We can only be sued by 1 club, any journalist even mentioning several clubs is a complete and utter moron, or deliberately lying to make this story bigger than it is

And, crucially, is deliberately trying to distract from the main debate of how ludicrously unjustified the 10pt deduction is.

Leicester…

Pretty sure Burnley were in a mess shortly before they went down, Wolves certainly are and also Leeds & Southampton.

Forest with their 400 players will be the equivalent of Bearings Bank in a years time.

It's a minefield. If the deduction applies to 21/22, then I guess Burnley can sue us? But then could Leicester sue us too claiming that we shouldn't have been in the league the season they went down, and we might have been replaced by an inferior team from the championship, making it easier for them to stay up? Then is it possible for a team in the championship to sue us for denying them the chance to get promoted?

It doesn't help that the PL is just making things up as they go along.

None of the five clubs who could potentially start legal actions have said anything as of yet.

Probably all working together behind the scenes before making a move. Probably will be a case moving forward and they will attempt some form of compensation from us.

I think its only 3 clubs now? Soton and Forest I think said they won't be taking action?
