Leaving Goodison - feelings

As I'm foreign and younger(broke-ish) I've only been once in 2005. It was the friendly against Udinese. I know not many will care about or remember this name but Simon Davies scored in the last minute. As I celebrated wildly (like the game actually meant something) I glanced down a bit and the older gentleman in front of me (probably heard my family's accent) just turned his head slightly and gave me a wink. I'll never forget that face/that day.

As @Dutch Toffee and @TheFinnFan have said I'll be there but I won't be trying for a ticket that should go to a Liverpudlian.
I actually get your stance mate...and I think im with you. Locals need to be there before us. But we will be there with them ...tickets would be impossible to get anyways

It will all work out fine and Goodison looks like it will still be there in many ways - by remaining as a Community Resource

It's not impossible that part of the ground lower tiers (non-Main Stand) might remain if the facility is used for sport - say, athletics etc.

We'll all be there (all that can hopefully) together as one, I just personally feel that people within the area (or with deep familial ties) should get the preference.

No problem with people who aren't, getting a ticket. Just a personal opinion.

There's nothing better in the world than a Goodison matchday, I will miss the Old Lady, my Grandfather and Father took me there and in turn I have 2 daft Evertonian son's who accompany me nowadays and 2 young Grandson's waiting in the wing's, but times they are a changing and we are already overdue a move, and until we do I'm going to cherish everyone of my visit's even more than I do already and as the end nears I will think about those friends and relatives that have passed away and won't have had the opportunity to see us move and grow from another location.

Had some of the happiest, and saddest moments of my life at that ground of ours. I've stared at amazement at the sheer size of the place, panicked when going in the top balc for the first time, and felt like my head would explode with the sheer noise at times.
I'll be sad to see the back of her, but as I've got older, I've realised it's the right thing to do. It used to be the grandest stadium in the country, but that's long gone and we've been left behind.
Let's just the hope the new gaff lives up to expectations and scares new match goers witless like Goodison once did for me.

Been going since the 1962-63 season and have loads of memories some good some not so good. Manu in the 1963 Charity shield at Goodison 'we want 5, we want 5' when we were battering them 4-0. We won loads whilst we have been at Goodison and in an ideal world, a Goodison done up and revamped would be wonderful. But the times are changing and just as we moved once before, to create a new chapter in our illustrious history, this move will create its own history. A stadium on the waterfront now that will be a sight to behold.

My era when you could stand in the lower Bullins above the old paddock it was all one area!standing out of the rain -only part of the ground never went to was Goodison Road and stand everywhere else sat or stood - Boys pen once 6d equals 2 /1/2 p

Bitter / sweet. 50+ years of memories that will stay with me, bit like my scrap books when I was 12. They will stay with me but I look forward to a fantastic future.

This stadium will be for our children, grandchildren and beyond.

We now have the perfect site on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey.

I've been going to Goodison since 1963, but it's time to move on.

A lot of the previous posts have highlighted the memories we will cherish, but I can't wait to walk through those Bramley Moore gates for the first match.

If one game stands out for me it is the Southampton cup replay circa 1981.

I remember having to queue for over an hour to get in.......about 50,000 showed up and they had only opened half the turnstiles, it was pay at the gate.

The match wasn't great but Eamon O'Keefe scoring the only goal of the game in extra time sent us all into a frenzy of delight and I have never seen such celebrations at Goodison

(I wasn't at the Bayern Munich semi final :()
Bouncing it was
The park end
The paddock
The street end
Not sure about the enclosure
I was in the park end next to the saints fans shouting abuse the way do
