Danny Ings is a replacement level striker in a run of form that he will never replicate in his life. He's come nowhere near scoring this amount of goals in a season at any point in his career, it's an anomaly. It would be like signing Toto Schillaci on the back of his Italia 90 form.

I honestly believe that every one of the other Premier league teams, plus half of the Championship would have won yesterday, the ONLY team that could have failed would be us.

Before looking for leaders you need to find evidence that a backbone exists in the squad.

There are no leaders in this squad and none at boardroom level of this club. We need a clear out of players this summer whether we take a loss on them or not

because they are beaten before they go out onto the pitch. There are no Pete Reids, Lee carsleys or Dave Watson feels who make everyone know they are in a game. I know we need central midfield players, a centre half and a goalscorer but the thing I think we lack the most is a leader on the pitch.

Delph was apparently bought with this in mind but I've seen no sign of it myself. Coleman, Mina and Pickford shout and point a lot but it seems to have little effect.

We need to sign a player that garners respect from his peers, organises on the pitch and takes no crap from refs and the media. Only problem is I'm not sure who we could get that fits that profile!

We have nothing like that. I'd go as far to say throw money at a proven midfield enforcer with a big mouth as well and give him the armband. Make him ancelottis general on the pitch to bullock anyone on that pitch who is hiding.
