Three Billboards, after the recommendations on here. Great characters and enjoyable film. I used to hate anything with Woody in but after this and True Detective I'm now a fan 8/10.

Mother - what a bizarre film, i don’t think I would have enjoyed it if I didn’t know what is based on. 7/10

Truth or dare - bit of a final destination rip off, made 90 mins go by and kept her quiet so that was a benefit. 4.5/10

Is the taken trilogy worth bothering with?

Good god no.

The first one is *ok*, but 2 & 3 go crazy on the shaky-cam/fast cut for action sequences. In one of them, there is an 6 second sequence of Liam Neeson jumping over a fence and there is 15 cuts!!!!! FIFTEEN in 6 seconds! And a car chase scene with over 40 cuts in about 23 seconds. They are just piles of dog turd for any sort of cohesive viewing.

View attachment 47785This was on Film4 the other night, the Cohen Brothers remake of the all time classic - True Grit.

Fantastic remake, with an incredible performance from Hailee Steinfield as the young girl. Ecplises all of the adult actors.

I really liked the injection of ultra black humour into the remake and as always with the Cohen brothers, beautifully filmed.

Fantastic movie!

Spiderman Homecoming - Decent fun Marvel movie which follows the usual template. Glad to see they didn't bother with how Peter Parker became Spiderman and just got on with it. Watching all these MCU films in a bit of a messy order as and when I catch them on TV or Netflix/Prime.

Beverley Hills Cop - Had never seen this until a few nights ago. Excellent and I can't get that tune out of my head now.

Brilliant movie. Now go watch #2, but don't bother with 3.
