Last Film You Watched

Just watched Infinity Chamber on Netflix, v much enjoyed it. Don't know if @COYBL25 or @dholliday have seen it but it might be up your street

Cheers, I haven`t seen it, but it looks good ;)

Oh yes, the premise is right up my street. I think we'll have to trial netflix as we still haven't watched stranger-things2 (the first series was good, not amazing, but good enough to want to watch another season)

plus i think the new Cloverfield is Netflix, isn't it?

There is a trend at the moment for any 'non-serious' action film to be a quasi-comedy. Personally I enjoyed Ragnarok, but feel like this trend defo has hurt several films as of late (eg The Last Jedi - but lets not get into that now!).

Aye, I've noticed the same thing. I suppose when you look at the 80's & 90's it was always thus: Indiana Jones, Independence Day even Die Hard and the Arnie films. But for some reason I found the humour in those funnier than I do in modern blockbusters.

Maybe the humour's become too childish or simple?

Finally got around to watching this.

Wasn’t expecting much, but I really enjoyed it.

I don’t know whether it was intentional, but it’s a almost an art house horror. The set and cinematography were superb.

Thankfully Sean Bean only had a big part.

Nice tip. I'm a big fan of the original PS1 game...amazing horror atmosphere. The build-up of dread was only bettered 13 years later with Amnesia (which is still king of video-game horror).

Why, did you have good taste and an open mind when you were 12??:p

My favourite films at age 12 are still among my favorite films now: original Star Wars trilogy, Excalibur, Enemy Mine, Moby Dick, Watership Down, Gremlins, Transformers...

Tho' I was also reading Stephen King & Dean R Koontz at that age...weren't allowed to watch 18-cert horror videos, tho'!

Not having a go mate, but you`re either a fan of Guillermo del Torro`s films or not.

His films are always " different " and many are like violent adult fairy tales.

The Shape of Water deffo falls into this category.

I can 100% see why you didn`t like it, but I`m a fan and I thought it was stunning.
I am a massive fan of Mr del Torro seen all his flms many times.. Pans labyrinth is in my all time top 10 , but other than the high production values of the 'shape of water' the story is an absolute dog... Cringe worthy upgrade of splash meets the creature from the black lagoon. So naturally it had to clean up the Oscars.....

We've got Cronos on DVD but haven't watched it yet. I enjoyed Mimic and Blade 2 was daft fun. Devil's Backbone was ok, borderline-recommended. Pacific Rim was awful...really bad 2/10 film. Crimson Peak was pretty but forgettable and weak.

I appreciate he's got his own style, and it's a nice style. Just maybe it's the screenplay or the pacing which lets down his films for me. I like Sally Hawkins so will still give Shape of Water a bash at some point, even if it does sound like a Moffat B-script during his experimental Season 6/7 Doctor Who phase.

Each to their own mate, but I just love the visuals that you get with his films.

You'll like it, I guarantee. Its visually stunning, but slow paced, which added to the film imo. I can see why some wouldn't like it though.

Luckily Splash is the greatest film ever made so this should be good.

Can't think of the name of it but Wahlberg and The Rock were in it as gym freaks, supposed to be a comedy, it was awful.

Horrible film.
