Black Panther - decent enough MCU entry. The characters and setting are less familiar which is apparently enough to elevate it to Citizen Kane-rivalling brilliance to some people, but when you get down to the nitty gritty it follows a well trodden formula, which is exactly what I expected. Thought the action sequences were quite weak TBH - too much close-up shaky cam.
7/10

Blade Runner 2049 - I didn't love the first Blade Runner. In fact, I think the critics of the day got it about right, and it's become one of the most over-rated cult movies ever. Lots of take on board with this film. Themes, Questions, etc. Which is a good thing. Way too long and unbearably slow as a result, but overall I thought it was good piece of cinema.
8/10.

might have to give 'shape of the water ' a go, wasnt going to as i didnt really enjoy pans labyrinth, but i think thats cos i wasnt prepared for it to be so disturbing/miserable!

Bright: a Netflix original starring Will Smith set in an alternative universe in which Man, Ogre, Elf and Fairy live together in a gritty LA.

Surprisingly good with deep racial undertones put in a way that most SJW conscience producers would never allow to get passed the censors. This film would have never been release in cinemas but fair play to Netflix for going out there and giving it a platform. Really makes you think
