Lacina Traore

We might as well send Traore back to Monaco - he is a misfit, injured and my first thoughts are that he isn't a very good footballer. Might as well give Kone a free. I am haunted by his dreadful display against Stevenage. Some
of our transfer activity has been abysmal and will cost us a place in Europe.

@everton: RM: "Depending what route we go down, it's going to have certain consequences. It could mean Lacina can play for us again or he can't." #EFC

What does that even mean?!

think if he has surgery he deffo cant play again, maybe its an injury they can 'manage' without surgery depending on its extent and waht monaco want to do

anyone got any ideas on how we can get a new striker in with the window closed?! what amazing free agents are about?

Roberto has made some top loan signings in Barry, Lukaku and Deulofeu, but Traore always looked very risky and may have been influenced by Romelu's injury problems and his intelligibility for the Chelsea game.

I'm always suspicious when taking a player, even if only on loan, when he's initially carrying an injury. Only have to look at the problems with Andy Carroll for an example of what can go wrong, although I'm not saying Traore's signing was in that category.

Maybe Roberto hasn't had the best of luck with his signings, but Kone injured all season apart from a night he'd rather forget against Stevenage, Alcaraz signed with a long term hamstring problem, Traore signed with a hamstring problem and McGeady signed when well short of fitness doesn't look great.

Against that his other loan signings have been superb and McCarthy really has helped our side adapt to his methods as well as performing consistently well himself.

Moyes lacked ambition and consistently let us down with his lack of signings in the windows. Add to that his negative approach and inability to get his side to perform when it mattered. On the plus side though it's got to be admitted that when he did sign players they were usually excellent signings as Cahill, Jags, Arteta, Pienaar, Stones, Coleman, Baines etc etc in fact there were very few duds like Koldrup probably only 4 or 5.

It has been a real boost with our new boss being so positive and it's given us as new way of playing as well as giving us the confidence to go the Old Trafford and The Emirates and really compete. He's also taken Ross Barkley to the next level and possibly the World Cup. Just a pity his record on signings has been so very mixed.

I disagree, in that I think it's a bit much to say he's a clown who hasn't got a clue.

Didn't he get us Lukaku?
Yes it was a bit much saying he's a clown sorry about that, admittedly i did'nt see much of Lukaka before his last champions league game he played for Chelsea but when he came on as sub late in that game Chelsea had a throw in and it was thrown about 4 yards to Lukaku who tried to control the ball but it just bounced of him and went out for a throw-in to the opposition, i'm just not a fan of him and could'nt believe we signed him, i did think he was going to make me eat my words when he scored a few for us but how do you explain the terrible form he's shown since November, it's somebody's fault

Kone is a good striker and next season I will be vaulting and lmao @ so many of you

We all hope that happens mate. Literally not one single person slating Kone *wants* him to be a bad signing. They just think he is. If it turns out he isn't ... they will be very happy to change their opinions accordingly.

A growing number of people seem to be operating under the impression this website is a Nostradamus training program in which we all make predictions and then score each other's work.

Look how many goals Kone scored for the team that got relegated last year? Granted his injury and age could take its toll on him now but previously if he had been available this season i am sure he would have scored a few goals that may have proven to be important at the time.

Traore is the reason why we shouldnt loan strikers. All well and good if he plays but if he gets unjured then what is the point? He is carted off to his club and wrapped in cotton wool depending if they are decent, for about 2-3 weeks longer than needed to be.

I say play him and rush him back as soon as we can. If he does his hamstring in for a while, well he isnt our player is he?

Story is we'll announce within 48 hours what the score is. If he needs surgery, likely his season, and therefore our loan, is over.

He'll have scored in every start though.

I don't get that mate, surely the fact we can get shut is a good thing. What if we'd spunked 10 million on him?
