Lacina Traore

Look how many goals Kone scored for the team that got relegated last year? Granted his injury and age could take its toll on him now but previously if he had been available this season i am sure he would have scored a few goals that may have proven to be important at the time.

Traore is the reason why we shouldnt loan strikers. All well and good if he plays but if he gets unjured then what is the point? He is carted off to his club and wrapped in cotton wool depending if they are decent, for about 2-3 weeks longer than needed to be.

I say play him and rush him back as soon as we can. If he does his hamstring in for a while, well he isnt our player is he?

It would have been better if we bought him, then he got injured?

As to the last point, Monaco will have some say in that.

What i mean is he is injured and no good to us now. So when we need someone to score goals, he is pulling his hamstring and leaving us desprately short up front.

However next season he could go to monaco, never miss a game and score 30 + goals. No good to us now as he currently is but we signed him for that reason.

Imagine if we signed him and after a bad few months he rewarded us like that? The difference is by May of the following year he wouldnt be going off somewhere else to do that.

It's a moot point though because they weren't going to buy anyone. We may disagree with that line of thinking but they didn't like the players available in Jan and (so the story goes) are saving money for the summer. So loan was the only option. Was he the best loan to get given his injury? I don't know. But to compare loan v. buy is pointless ... obviously buy is better in absolute terms but if there is nobody to buy then not getting a loan in out of sheer principle is counter-productive. There was (allegedly) nobody they felt was worth the money available ... so what options are left?

... and while this wouldn't be the case with Traore in the Kone situation you could argue that it's worse than a loan because we wouldn't (I hope) have paid what we paid for him if he were one year older and coming off a season ending injury.

Only 'striker' who played in the Prem last year and is a free agent is Jermaine Pennant....don't know about Europe though, or the USA . Time for Landon ?

It's a hamstring on the other leg this time tho, surely it's safe to assume that has nothing to do with his last injury so can't be used as a dig of signing an "injured player"

Clearly there are two options with the treatment. Operation or treatment. Monaco seem to want operation, bobby seems to think treatment is fine....therefore I think he's making it clear if Monaco insist on a op then the loan is over.

If lukaku is fit, and stays fit till season end we'll be fine.

Report here implying from Martinez's statement that the cost of his stay depends on the length of time he's here. Sounds like he's getting paid as he plays.

Twelve games to go; we'd be better now just persevering with Lukaku. We stumbled across the wrong January loan signing that's for sure.

You cant legislate for injuries, its a shame because again I think he could have contributed.
