Kevin Mirallas

Mirallas is a very good player but a little too inconsistent. His performances range from excellent to invisible too often.
Of all the players in the squad he is the one that I feel could leave in the summer if a bid came in from a club that he would find attractive.

Im falling out of love with him to be honest.

I thought he would be our Bale this year. His 2 goals last year, vs Stoke (h) and vs Spurs (a) together showed that there is a special, special talent there. Yes Bale is more athletic and powerful and that suits his game tremendously, but I just thought Kev would turn into our talisman.

Whether its his attitude or application im unsure, but im sick of him

But unfortunately without him it would be Naismith or Osman every game. We can't afford to buy a creative winger AND replace Mirallas with someone better than the others mentioned.

I take your point certainly as McGeady still isnt there fitness wise, Deu is young and needs patience and Pienaar has had a few injuries this year.

I think if Deu goes home this summer, then I think we desperately need another winger or 2 should a decent offer for Kev come in.

Ive given up on him tbh although im always happy to be proven wrong

Think what drives most crazy about Kev is the fact we know how good he can be when he turns it on, maybe if we add a few more direct players in the summer with an end product (Tadic etc) then he will stop trying to do it all alone and pick his head up a bit more, got the feeling he doesn't trust laying it off for others atm due to them not doing anything with it in good positions - Peanuts, Ozzy etc

If he wasn't faulty, we wouldn't have him. It hurts but its the truth. That said, he is incredibly frustrating, and for me his faults are so simple to fix...he literally just needs to pass the ball.

I think people are being a bit hard on Kev. It's a lot more difficult to be consistent as a winger or attacker as you're expected to create, go on mazy dribbles, score goals say compared to a holding midfielder, who is praised to high heaven for simply running around a lot and playing 10-yard sideways passes.

I don't think it's that simple, he runs with his head down when he's attacking the opponents box. It's part of why he so effectively takes players on and is a tricky player to defend, but it also makes it harder for him to pick out a man when everyone's running around him. His assist to Lukaku last weekend was from a one-two pass because he could track Lukaku's run without having to actually look at him.

So I don't think it's simply a matter of getting him to 'start passing', coaching him to pull his head up earlier and pick out a man is going to make him less dangerous on the ball. As a professional footballer you would think someone would have addressed this earlier in his career but hey.

That said I'm definitely overstating the problem, most of the time he is able to pass the ball just fine, it's just that those times when there's clearly a player open in the box and fails to find them are so noticeable and memorable.

Meh hes a special player, a match winner if your going to have them in your team you have to ride out form, trying things that dont always come of, defensive game not being as attuned as their offensive game.

I dont understand why the question of selling him is there hes been great in the last two games for me.
Also about the only Everton player who turned up at Anfield earlier this season.
