Kenwright and investment

Wish dave was here, hes cleverer than me. He would make sense of it all. In the meantime I will plod on alone.

His poodle Estone yapped that nothing would be "off the table" and then a few minutes/hours later The big Dog himself refused point blank to answer a question.

Its not my fault that he is constantly putting his foot in it. Everything he says is a lie. He tells us the club is for sale, that we need a billionare, then he tells the Kirkby enquiry that the club isnt for sale.

He says that he is talking to people all the time, then he says that nobody is buying clubs at the moment.

And what share price is he protecting? Please lets not pretend that we are some multi national that has a good reputation to uphold.

He was asked a question by a fellow shareholder in Everton Football Club, he felt that he didnt need to answer it. He could have got his little poodle to yap away some more, instead he felt the need to just pretend the question wasnt asked.

IMO It is quite clear he has no intention whatsoever of relinquishing control of the club. I think you can take it as read that the club is not for sale no matter what Billy Bullshit may say.

Oh come on Goat, grow up. You are acting like a child, trying to take everything said at it's literal face value and not at it's obvious meaning.

If you had said "Hey Elstone, do you give it to your wife up the arse", you couldn't have demanded an answer on the grounds that he said "nothing was off the table". Some questions are self-evidently not going to be answered under any circumstances. "Who do you think is the worst player in the first team squad", for example, would not be answered by Moyes.

What you want is to be told the selling price to make you feel better, because you are curious. That's it. Giving away such information ALWAYS costs the seller money when it comes to sale time - depending on the sale, how many buyers etc, it could take tens of millions off the value (as you could never get an auction going if you state your price). So what you want is for Kenwright to give up millions of his own money, plus millions of Robert Earl's money to make you feel better.

And you also want to claim Kenwright is a bad Evertonian because he won't.

Sir Bill of Kenwright CBE, MBE, OBE, R2D2, C3PO, CPS, CSA, B&H

is great. Lord grand master of the toffeemen, saviour of the universe. give the man a knighthood.

I believe in you billy. Have no fear.

that should cheer the place up a bit.

See my post Lordy. Wake up to the never ending rubbish from Billy Bullshit.

Ways to spot which side is right in an argument:

(1) People who use hil-ar-i-ous nicknames are always right.
(2) People who state their opinion as fact are always right.
(3) People who think that the other side are ignorant/fools/should wake up are always right.
(4) People who want to turn the argument in an emotive one rather than a fact based one are always right.

Basically, you've convinced me.

Oh, I missed one

People who want to polarise the argument into something either being wonderful or totally useless are also always right.

Come on mate, that's not fair. I like Bill, and appreciate many things about his tenure here. But Goat is correct in pointing out the things he has. This was Bill's chance to do a nice PR defensive, but he chose to act like a spoilt brat. Whether or not it was sensible or necessary to answer the questions posed, doesn't excuse the way he reacted to them.

we are not going to find anyone who is going to invest in us until we have a new stadium, purely for the commercial aspect. they are not going to want to buy everton, then buy a new stadium, which is needed at the end of the day because if a new investor isnt going to make any sort of money on a match day, they are not going to be intersted in us. unfortunately their are a lot of naive people out there who think a billionaire will come in spend loads of money on players and stay at goodison. Im sorry this isnt going to happen.

I would be intersted to see what keoic say if a billionaire did take us over and moved to kirkby then.

For all his faults, kenwright is on a hiding to nothing. i for one quite like the man and his passion. I dont think you would find hicks or gillete laying on trains for all explayers to wembley like kenwright did.

So to sum up all you knobheads who think a billionaire is willing to take us over while we have an outdated and old stadium are entitled to their opinion but they are just being very very naive.

Well Goat said "His poodle Estone yapped that nothing would be "off the table" and then a few minutes/hours later The big Dog himself refused point blank to answer a question."

which to me read more like a complaint that a question wasn't answered even though Goat felt it should have been. His other points (such as "what share price is he protecting") suggest to me a problem with not answering the question, rather than (or as well as) the retort used.

I agree that the transcript looks bad. I'd like to reserve judgement until I saw the full context for myself, but if Kenwright did act like that then he shouldn't have.

However, I think Goat did have an issue with the question not being answered based on the tone of his post, and I also have an issue with Kenwright being guilty until proven innocent, in terms of an selectively edited transcript being treated as a gospel interpretation of events.

But that is a bit rhetoric which was surrounded by a deeper, pertinent point. Bill came out of it looking bad and this was entirely due to his own petulance.

Well I wasn't there, so I don't know how bad he looked. If you were, then you've probably got a better idea than me. I don't know how many people on this forum were there, but maybe they could all chime in to give us an idea of how Bill came across, whether there was genuine insulting tone or whether certain people just wanted to hear it?

If we are just going on an edited transcript, well then the only way to avoid having your words twisted is to basically say nothing at all. And while a lot of people wish he would do that, I think that's pretty contrary to the point being made.
