I’m guessing those who claimed the FBI planted documents at MIL will mysteriously forget Deep State conspiracy theories about these ones.
Although the circumstances are significantly different from Trump, with the documents apparently being accidentally taken and full cooperation in their return, it does raise a lot of questions about how easy it is for former officials to take classified documents away with them after their tenure.

There is no clear other option though
To be honest, I'd take Buttigeig or Raskin.
Neither are as progressive as I'd like but both are good orators and seem like smart capable types.
I've been very impressed with Buttigeig going on fox and tying them in knots, something the dems have been crap at forever.

Who is next - I supported Kamala Harris originally in 2020 - can she do it? It might have to be Elizabeth Warren????
Warren would have to cut out all the small town ‘we were so poor’ stuff if she were to run again. Angry, take no prisoners Warren might have a shot. Her advisors really messed up last time out.
Given the gerontocracy of the past seven years, I think there will be a desire for younger candidates this time around
I do get that, at the same time, the only one I see right now who is quick enough on his verbal feet to take on whatever comes out of the GOP is Pete Buttigieg - maybe he'd be ready with the time he's spent in Washington so far - last cycle, he was not yet ready for prime time. And, realistically, the nature of campaigns, debates and interaction has changed - we see the SOTU speech turning in to PMQ's, campaign speeches turning into heckling opportunities, etc - whoever is next for the Dems needs to be able to shut it down as well as Obama frequently did.
