January Transfer Window 2026

Seeing as of now no one has opened the summer 26 transfer window thread , would you consider doing the forum the tremendous honour of opening one
It’s never too early and the launderettes need the business

Absolutely not pal, the forum deserves a break from these passive aggressive blow hards that pervade this forum until June at least. I’d like the honour of closing this thread if @GrandOldTeam would be so kind.
hello chaps

Grealish is a bit of a conundrum really. If he's going to cost approaching £50M then that's money better spent on younger player(s)
Also if Moyes is stuck on 6ft plus full backs who’re more of defensive type full backs. That’s going to affect all our wide players, so potentially spending 50mil on Grealish is a big gamble for me. Unless you get rid of Moyes and bring in a more attack minded coach and bring in attacking full backs

Not premier league ready 😊

another dig at moyes

we need a RB for half a season

You can take it as a dig at Moyes but it is what Bobble said on his twitter feed. Full quote

Nathan Patterson is to stay at Everton after interest from numerous clubs including Genoa and Wolves. The 24 year-old is more than settled at the club after a run of impressive performances, Patterson is keen for minutes in a bid to make the Scotland World Cup squad. Brooke Norton-Cuffy was not considered as a direct replacement with Patterson deemed more Premier League ready 🔵

This is all in your head though.
But it's not. McNeil was offered out. Now he's loafing around on our books a 2/3rd pick, right?

Or what...he and his family are feeling a massive future here?

The 1st halves against Leeds and Brighton are dycheball in terms of xg.

Turning into a wasted session, where the flat table offers Europe.

I'm not saying we'd do well, but it would drastically improve our recruitment options and appeal to longer term manager.

So frustrating, but yeah I'm not forgetting we're not languishing heavy relegation at the moment.

Cool, so that's 25-26 season and no cup runs. Tick.

I'll offer a few conciliatory notes which are:

- yes AFCON took two players
- the jack injury situation too ( but he has plateau'd, and we did put all our eggs into one basket somewhat).1 goal? 250k a week?
- poor legacy squad

The truth is our business beyond KDH and Illy in what 4-5 windows has scarcely improved us.

We didn't need Dibling and Rohl at 50m we needed two full backs and arguably a striker not Jack.

Boring mistakes being made in slow motion on and off the pitch. Fans deserve better.

Like our performances Vs Leeds and Brighton... Left things too late. Fancy doing this to the guy's family.

What's McNeil gonna feel like between now and end of season. Way to go building confidence for an already fringe player...

I got pilloried on here suggesting we could make 10m+ on him.

EFC turns down twice that. Joke leadership, and sticks a nail in his season all in one go.

Moyes needs to turn the end of season around now or finally loses my support for a future here. I've always been loyal, but Jan performances and this window need to ring alarm bells.
Only it's nothing to do with Everton.

We accepted an offer, McNeil agreed terms with Palace, then Palace cocked up.

Imagine he'll be devastated; fresh start for him and all that. But it's football and he needs to knuckle down and earn another move in June.

Grealish is a bit of a conundrum really. If he's going to cost approaching £50M then that's money better spent on younger player(s)
There will be a deal to be done there at a much more reasonable price - even if it's another loan.
Everton shouldn't be paying anywhere near £50m for him though.

Tbh having read a few sources since I think it fell down at palace's end, they essentially pulled out. Not on Everton.

It's not surprising Simon Jordan is an absolute cowboy and about as reliable a character as Jeffrey Archer

I know what you mean though about players being human as well. I'll freely admit I'm very forthright on my opinions of players, which I think is fine as long as your not @ them and being all over their socials with personal abuse.

I think venting calling Dwight crap or lazy or whatever within the confines of here is absolutely fine. If players are going digging on socials or forums then there be demons.

It's harsh like to say they can't just amble around social media land without a care in the world but I guess that's the price of fame and fortune, as long as those posting are not getting too personal and pointedly tagging players it's a world of free speech
Simon Jordan has nothing to do with Palace,he is an ex owner.
