January Transfer Window 2026

You do realise they spend all week working with each other, building relationships even if they don't often play together in the same line up during the 10min 'I know everything now' highlight you may or may not have watched?
Both also went to the World Club Cup and played together.

He always conveniently ignores the facts.

He's the Donald Trump of GOT.

There will be a deal to be done there at a much more reasonable price - even if it's another loan.
Everton shouldn't be paying anywhere near £50m for him though.
What's his book value after amortisation? That's not going to be 50M is it? If he cost 100M, then after 5 years it's got to be around 20M and if you factor in daft wages, you'd probably let him go just to save those if he isn't playing.

I'm disappointed that we didn't use our second loan slot , but how many players did people expect us to sign in Jan , even Bournemouth who sold their best player and had over a 100 hundred million surplus from summer bought a 19 year old winger for 30 million , another player in his early 20s that played in the Hungarian league and two acquired two gks. Palace spunked 50 million on a 30 million striker and West ham panic bought to avoid relegation. I would of loved a right back and it should of been rectified by now but I don't think this was a catastrophic window by any means

Overachieving 👀

Only it's nothing to do with Everton.

We accepted an offer, McNeil agreed terms with Palace, then Palace cocked up.

Imagine he'll be devastated; fresh start for him and all that. But it's football and he needs to knuckle down and earn another move in June.
I cant believe it was in some reports that Palace stopped the McNeill deal & would not submit the final agreement paper to close the agreed deal with Everton FC - over the fact Mateta deal fell through failing his medical - SSN transfer day announced that early pm - & they went out & purchased the Wolves CF for big money straight away -

The Dwight McNeil deal started late evening Palace making an offer & EFC telling them to up it with add on's to 20 million - his contract was worked out as a 4 & 1/2 year deal & he was sent for his medical all agreed - paperwork sent through - the final agreement papers by Palace were withdrawn as they moved the goalpost on the deal plus now blaming it all on that Mateta deal falling through as he failed his medical -?

That was known well before the transaction with our club & I see it as a poor excuse as they have sold many players in the past & they had the funds plus it was that late of a move for Dwight he & his girlfriend may have flew there to get his medical on time - only for Palace to come up with something announced around midday over Mateta ?

A very sad state of affairs for any player to be let down in this way - with what looks like a lame excuse IMO ....

They have the right of course , but morally its unfair to any player IMO....

Not my picks necessarily but the kind of summer in terms of positions and names I am guessing.

CB: Cresswell
RB: someone like a Doue, El-Hilali, Alebiosu, Norton Cuffey
LB: Bueno..no real ideas
LW: someone like a Grealish, George, Ezzazouli, Moleiro (or a RW)
ST: Richarlison, Delap

😲 it seems things could have gone much worse
I think that comment about O'Brien is massive and it was pretty obvious in the summer that this was the case too. For all the talk about the transfer committee and the blame some people want to put on them as if it's been impossible to identify a single right back in the whole world, it seems pretty clear that Moyes actually likes O'Brien at right back and doesn't believe an upgrade there is as easy as most of us do. I've said a few times I think we need to stop acting as if O'Brien is a centre half covering in an emergency, under this manager he is evidently seen as a right back.
