January Transfer Window 2026

Like our performances Vs Leeds and Brighton... Left things too late. Fancy doing this to the guy's family.

What's McNeil gonna feel like between now and end of season. Way to go building confidence for an already fringe player...

I got pilloried on here suggesting we could make 10m+ on him.

EFC turns down twice that. Joke leadership, and sticks a nail in his season all in one go.

Moyes needs to turn the end of season around now or finally loses my support for a future here. I've always been loyal, but Jan performances and this window need to ring alarm bells.
Tbh having read a few sources since I think it fell down at palace's end, they essentially pulled out. Not on Everton.

It's not surprising Simon Jordan is an absolute cowboy and about as reliable a character as Jeffrey Archer

I know what you mean though about players being human as well. I'll freely admit I'm very forthright on my opinions of players, which I think is fine as long as your not @ them and being all over their socials with personal abuse.

I think venting calling Dwight crap or lazy or whatever within the confines of here is absolutely fine. If players are going digging on socials or forums then there be demons.

It's harsh like to say they can't just amble around social media land without a care in the world but I guess that's the price of fame and fortune, as long as those posting are not getting too personal and pointedly tagging players it's a world of free speech

Contracts expiring 2027
Beto
McNeil
Patterson
Alcaraz
King
Iroegbunam

Going to be a few sales in the summer and several extensions.

Contracts expiring 2028
Tarkowski
O'brien
Armstrong
Great post, that actually gave me some hope after the Jan Window.

Given Tarks age and the fact he's just looked a little jaded and off it since end of last season ( no fault in attitude, lots of games, injury recovery needs time etc) I would only want o Brien and possibly Armstrong off that list.

So a clear out in the summer looms ( hopefully).

For the first time I'd SERIOUSLY consider this... Do we want Moyes leading that?

When I look at the jobs done by Areola, Nunez, Andrews even Silva again I see better football and younger guys able to make a positive difference.

Moyes did that last season, and were out of danger ( also the cups ).... But the football is going backwards and the Jan window are not good enough.

Over 14000 posts for just one player signed lads. Seems a good trade of time lads. Really enjoyed your expertise in scouting and rage demands which invoked the club into going all out to meet your entitlement.

Let’s do it all again in summer lads.
Wait... You mean we fell a mere 14000 posts short of £20m for McNeil?

I thought this is what AI was for?

So we already need to pay for Rohl, George (and Grealish potentially) in the summer - if we're hoping to add further that'll be a hell of an outlay in one go.
Well there’s 65-70 m gone already
Assuming ( which is always a dangerous thing to do ) we sell Patterson Beto McNeill for 55-60m we will use up about 10m of our budget
Should still leave enough to buy
Experienced LB
Experienced RB
Experienced striker
Young RB

Think we'll bring in about £30m tops for those 3. Patterson will have 18 months left on his deal and McNeil and Beto one.

Seeing as of now no one has opened the summer 26 transfer window thread , would you consider doing the forum the tremendous honour of opening one
It’s never too early and the launderettes need the business

Absolutely not pal, the forum deserves a break from these passive aggressive blow hards that pervade this forum until June at least. I’d like the honour of closing this thread if @GrandOldTeam would be so kind.

Mr Jordan will no doubt be on his radio show later blaming Everton or the player

He would of probably made approx £12m from his Everton contract alone.

There's no pity for me for footballers as if it gets THIS bad, he could always just quit and use that money to do whatever else he wants in life.

We all have set backs and bad things happen to us, have to make life changing decisions etc

Dwight would of worked very hard to get to were he is, and as said he is in the 0.1% that make it, that means he is a mentally tough human being, the game he has entered isnt the same as when he is a kid, it is dominated by money and people not really looking after you...........................but do we not all experience that at some point in life, especially in the transitions from school life to the working world to then becoming an adult, difference is Dwight has been heavily re-embursed for this

They changed the terms on us when the Mateta deal fell apart according to Ornstein at least.

I dont think the timeline of that really lines up becasue the Mateta deal collapsed earlier in the day, between 5pm and 6pm when Milan raised issues over his knee for the medical and the deal sheet for Dwight had to be submitted by 7pm and at that stage it was submitted as a loan with an obligation to buy. It was only later that Palace wanted to change it and by 9pm the move for Dwight was off.

Maybe there was some misunderstanding and Palace always thought it was an option, not an obligation. To be honest I thought getting £20m for Dwight was a great deal for us, but given that he has 18 months on his contract I think we will be lucky to get half that in the summer, even if he plays well between now and then. Sending him there with only an option to buy was never a good option for us, so makes more sense that he stays.
