January Transfer Window 2026

Apparently before he left Aston Villa there were a slew of incidents due to his negative demeanor which basically hastened his departure there.
From the Athletic: "Duran has, occasionally, been a disruptive presence. There were instances of him turning up late and disturbing team meetings. His attitude had been noted by multiple sources, who felt he could stray dangerously close to breaching Villa’s disciplinary standards, which were set by leaders in the dressing room."

So I'd imagine with him making all these abrupt moves in a short amount of time ,his disruptive tendencies have just become more prevalent since he was at Villa , it would probably be best to swerve.
Didn’t he go on strike to join West Ham? Then went to Saudi, then Turkey.
Sounds like a really ambitious young lad and a top team mate

Isn’t that the definition of having someone’s pants down ? Getting someone to believe that something is worth a lot more than it is ? Then paying that price to
We had a choice. We chose to spend that amount on him, rather than a lesser amount in other players.
Southampton didn’t tell us what our evaluation of him was, or how much we were willing to pay for him.
Our evaluation of him met with what Southampton was asking for. Southampton, like every selling club wanted the largest amount of money they could get. Either our evaluation was wrong, or we chose to overpay.

He's not a number 9 though and Moyes wants a certain type to play that role which isn't Graham. Graham's best chance of getting game time will be either playing as a wide forward or just off Barry but Moyes won't be dropping senior players to take that kind of 'risk'
In an ideal world Moyes won't be here after May, so we may be in the positive situation where the next manager isn't so bloody blinkered.

On what basis are you making the assumption that it’s the owners not putting money in that’s the problem?
Isn’t it more likely ‘Dithering’ is the problem, seeing all the players we are supposedly watching and ‘have an interest in’ have been quickly snapped up by other clubs?
There's clearly a huge disconnect between the Manager and the Club Executives/Recruitment team.

The club have signed young players with huge potential to ensure that the wages are more manageable, to leave options for trading and protecting resale values. The manager has chosen not to play them.

Now we have proper ownership and structure, there will only be one winner here.

Villa were set to sell Olly Watkins before Al-Nassr came in with a ludicrous bid for Duran. The had to get rid of one of them to satisfy PSR.

Tar man. Gives a little time anyway.

Most compelling argument I’ve seen in here is the league being so open that it’s worth getting some in to have a go at a higher place and European place. Also the bit about having your targets lined up to go 1st of the month.

See on Monday I suppose.
Yeah it is a strange and open season and there is an opportunity for a mid table club to sneak into a European qualification position. A couple of Loans in the right positions would definitely increase our chances. Not optimistic like but we will see by Monday night like you say. ;)
