They can but quite often the rot sets in after a period of time, not immediately. Not that a loan appears to be an option, but I’d gamble on getting the benefit before the rot sets in. If the rot happens more quickly than that just remove him from training etc. It’s a gamble admittedly but we are in touching distance of Europe so I think we do need to gamble to a certain extent.

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
It would be criminal not to add players, We have our best defender back which is a big help but have lost our most creative player, Grealish needs replacing we are 5 points behind 4th with a reasonable part of the season left, adding a few decent players gives us a chance, going with what we have gives us no chance.
