We're absolutely waiting until the Summer to sign somebody, and that's not being a pessimistic blue.

Without sounding like an FSG Trojan Horse, January is the hardest window to recruit properly. Clubs don’t want to sell, and the only players available are either overpriced, not good enough, or a panic buy.

Is it frustrating seeing other clubs do business? Yes of course. But the difference is, a lot of those clubs are operating from a completely different position financially and structurally. We can't afford to gamble, and lest us not forget there is some absolute dross we need to shift.

It's gonna take a while to sort this squad out, let's just be glad it's not Moshiri on the phone these days.

On the flip side..every league position is worth about 3 million isn't it? There's very few points between 5th and 15th currently, so there's a lot of money to be had by finishing strongly this season.

That's fine, but it doesn't stop the club using up it's loan slots.

Said this before it's inexcusable for a club that doesn't have loads to spend to not use most of it's allocation of loans, if things ended right now we'd still have 1 domestic loan and 5 international loans untouched.

This is where Moyes loved to take a gamble back when we were scraping change together, Yobo, Howard, Pienaar, Arteta, Drenthe, Straq, Fernandes.

Just take a gamble for 6 months we've got nothing to lose from it.

Even if its just the number of bodies available, a signing is a signing. We need a rb...there are teams ready to sell...but we are "monitoring" the situation.

11 out of 20 according to Sky so barely. A fair few of them are effectively just shuffling things round too, like Bournemouth and Palace have made signings but sold arguably their best players. Do we advocate doing that?
