January Transfer Window 2026

It's not a progressive signing though is it? It smacks of the recruitment team giving up on finding a proper solution and just settling for a cheap stop gap. If we're happy staying lower midtable then sure he'd be fine but if we want to show any ambition then he'd be a terrible signing
Did you see how many people on here were crying out for us to sign 85 year old Vardy!?

Yeah I get all that, but that's with him drifting into the centre with his face to goal. He needs to do it alot more, but sticking him centrally as his position will definitely slow down the centre, also he wont have the same freedom.

I know we keep going back to the same points, but a quick overlaping Fb would give him even more freedom.

As frustrating as it might be to him, he has to start trusting the other 10 players on the field.

I do t think it would slow down the middle as our cm literally pass side ways or backwards for 90% of the time we have the ball

Also I think that him “ slowing “ the play currently has a lot to do with the fact there is no overlapping fullback lap as you’ve mentioned .

But we have to use the players we have and if we do t have an attacking fb and no cm that can actually play a decent forward pass … I’d play him there

Are we talking just with the Injuries and Afcon, or permanently..

It’s more to do with Moyes wanting a bit 6ft 3 player to play RB and maybe not Norton cuffy, apparently cuffy is more the committee and Holm who’s 6ft 3 is Moyes . So basically not aligned. Think Moyes will be gone in the summer
Did ask on here and another poster on here said thought holm was the better option. Not saying i kno alot about holm or cuffy, just whatever the rb that comes in they have to have some attacking qualities. Have seen with myko at lb that he simply does not offer enough threat when we should be on the front foot in games. If moyes feel holm has that and a more rounded game is fine with me.

Holm is better than Cuffy.

I’m holding out hope we sign Holm.

I know I’m a fool to hope given I’m an Everton fan and all..

Now … if he does well then keep him there …

We had dacoure as a 10 last year and we’re winning games ( I am not saying he’s the answer just FYI)

Jack is a massive upgrade on that … he played there for villa and was signed for 100m

At villa he played the same as us, he wasn't in the 10 role there or at City.

Not saying he cant do it, he's certainly got all the ability but he will take up a quicker lads spot in the middle and than his spot will end up dropping to McNeil..

Just different opinions though mate

“The Bobble mentioned that when the club is comparing a player they are scouting, they compare the player against Jake O’Brien not Patterson or Coleman! Mind boggling.”

Yeah. Just listened to the transfer update. How depressing. Would be nice to have a club with a bit of ambition.

Yeah. I'm starting to think the same. It caused loads of issues in the summer supposedly and is hamstringing us again now.

Ironically, and I seldom side with Moyes, on this occasion, I think Holm would be the better fit.

Although I'd usually rather we sign younger, skillful players.

Yeah if it is him i just hope he does have more to his game going forward aswell, cant keep watching having two fb just looking lost when we attack
Holm is decent going forward. He is quite skillful and has a burst of pace. He can also put a decent ball in.

The thing about Norton-Cuffy is that he is more of an attacking full back whose numbers are quite poor in the final third.

It is going to be rare that a Moyes candidate would genuinely improve us, is still young enough to potentially generate profit amd improve us in terms of pace and going forwards, without Moyes having to lose his bloody comfort blanket at the back, so they should move for the player. I have a fear that if we get a different type of RB, Moyes will give him the Patterson treatment.
