January Transfer Window 2026

It’s more to do with Moyes wanting a bit 6ft 3 player to play RB and maybe not Norton cuffy, apparently cuffy is more the committee and Holm who’s 6ft 3 is Moyes . So basically not aligned. Think Moyes will be gone in the summer
Also starting to get this impression. Felt like Holm was the perfect compromise to please Moyes, but if they aren't even willing to compromise that far for him then it doesn't feel like he'll be here beyond this season to me.

This is proper crystal ball stuff of course so who knows haha

I thought it was a Big Lie that we were missing players and it was impacting our performances?
How does my saying he'll crack on with what he's got contradict the fact he was not short of players to put out?

As far as I remember we got a team out - it's just that he couldn't motivate them / play them in a correct formation / hand them a winning game plan....because he's not adaptable...which is where his dinosaur reputation comes from.

Without two attacking full backs it won’t matter who we play as the solitary ‘9’ as they are always going to be completely isolated & play with their back to goal.

I actually think Haaland would struggle in our set up.

We need the full backs to overlap allowing both wide players to come inside & give at least three options in the box & even four or five if the two ‘8’s can get forward and join the attack.

We are so toothless and utterly predictable in the way we play.

It’s a combination of Moyes style & the personnel we deploy.

I know for a fact that both Grealish & Dibling would be different beasts with full backs that bombed on and create space.

But … even with uber-pacey full backs, Moyes needs to tweak & shift the way we play a bit to maximise how we attack.

Thankless task for a ‘9’ in our set up currently.

It’s been this way for a LONG time sadly.

Buying even more players simply adds to the expectation levels on Moyes to produce - which is what he wants like he wants a hole in the head. People know this, right?

He'll be looking to the returnees to get us playing better after January's window shuts (which they will) and for that to get us improved results (and there will be).

Then we'll get to the summer and the same nonsense cycle begins again with late August arrivals and issues over bedding in and then starting the season off; and by January we'll be out of two cups and looking at getting top 10 again as 'the objective'.

Welcome to Moyes' Mersey Paradise.
You’ve just fabricated a story to post on the internet which is not only complete nonsense, but also contradicting what you were writing about him and the “big lie”.

Did you once write for the Daily Sport by any chance?

No it doesn't. Tell me how it does that...

They’d want 30mil plus. Not
Sure TFG will see that as a good
Deal
Why not? We pay £30m each for Beto and Barry and they've offered us nothing at all. £20m Röhl, who also appears to be crap. £30m is nothing for a proven Premier League striker. Even £40m for a good striker capable of performing for 3 more seasons at a high level wouldn't be too much imo.

I actually suspect that this is somewhat true. Moyes may like the idea or impression that he can cope with high expectations but his teams seem to play far better when there is less pressure and success would be seen as exceptional rather than expected.

He got into the odd final in his first spell and won something with West Ham when no one else would have been surprised if the other team won and he'd have had his pat on the back for being a plucky contender.

In some aspects I think this is harsh, but he's not driven like some to deliver success as if it was his reason for being. He's fine for now, and I don't see any serial winners available to us.

Anyway, 2 FBs and a striker please.

Well wasn’t quite 30 mil for each. And Rhol is obviously a signing for the future. Like some have pointed out palace would probably want a lot more than 30mil.

You’ve just said when we get our missing players back we’ll be better? At no point did Moyes or anyone else insinuate that we didn’t have 11 footballers on the books to put out on a pitch, that’s another straw man in a field of strawmen that you’ve invented.
