January Transfer Window 2026

It took years to offload the Moshiri-era players that were considered overpriced and overrated. We are in a new era now, free of points penalties and extremely strict transfer budgets.

So what did we go and do?

Bought a fresh crop of dross to yet again hold us back!

Dibling, Beto, Barry, the list goes on. When will we learn? We either have no pulling power, a poor transfer committee or both!

If current links are to be believed, then I see we are desperately hunting in the bargain CD/DVD basket at Woolworths again.

Pay more, see less
Dibling and Barry are MILES away from the dross that we got saddled with when Moshiri was signing players our old managers stomped their feet over, or whoever Joorabchian threw at him (Bolasie, Tosun, Schneiderlin, Walcott, Maupay, Klaasen etc. etc.)

The club have clearly changed tack and are bringing in young players with talent, potential and most importantly sell on value. What's happening however is we have a manager who is determined to destroy any element of confidence they may have, and a fan base who are demanding immediate returns from developmental players because we don't have a big enough squad to allow them time to settle in.

I'm seeing for the first time in years and years is a transfer strategy that is manager agnostic; and I'll all for this. It's a squad formed of Koeman and Allardyce and Benitez and Ancelotti players that have hamstrung Everton for a decade. We're out of that cycle and we should be glad of this.

What are people's thoughts on Callum Wilson, contract to the end of the season?

Amazing league stats for the season.

Beto and barry 21 starts between them. 5 goals.
Wilson 8 starts 4 goals.

If he had regular starts still in him its clearly yes but more to the point it highlights the two we have need to be moved on. Barry is still early days compared to beto but i wouldnt personally be hanging around to see if he comes good for next season. Its just prolonging the obvious need to find better imo.
