Basically none. Top scorer in the champ is Armstrong with 11 from 26, and last season two of the top three scorers weren’t even strikers. There's not a lot of strikers in the Championship in truth who are showing Premier League potential

The PL banned them (maybe the FA, I can't remember exactly). You can still have heavily incentivised contracts of course, e.g. £10k basic wage but big bonuses for appearances, goals etc.... I believe Wilson was on that type of deal at WHam and then he wasn't getting games so wanted out.Do pay as you play even exist ?
Adam Armstrong who couldn't score at all in the top flight too. As I said Jovon Makama has potential but I've no idea what level he can reach and we already have Barry in the work in progress roleBasically none. Didn’t the gvt get rid of zero hours contracts apart from the leisure/entertainment sector? Some might argue on here whether Everton falls within that bracket or not.

I agree Saint buying Wilson is short term thinking and not the way forward. But the next England number 9 will most likely be playing in one of the media darlings academies so we'd not be able to prize them away anywayThat might be the case but Everton say this all the time then Watkins comes up, Wilson, Toney, even Everton did it once in fairness with Calvert Lewin.
The next good England number 9 is probably playing in an academy right now not getting first team minutes at a top club, or is in the lower leagues. We should be trying to find him instead of throwing money at Callum Wilson.
I was just checking his stats and having the same thought.….being mischevious, I do wonder if we’d have been any worst off had we saved lots of money and just kept Ellis Simms.
Nah Simms is ordinary let's be truthful and he's not even a regular for a championship club….being mischevious, I do wonder if we’d have been any worst off had we saved lots of money and just kept Ellis Simms.
Coventry fans until recently said he wasn’t championship standard. But I don’t think Beto and Barry have offered anything he couldn’t of….being mischevious, I do wonder if we’d have been any worst off had we saved lots of money and just kept Ellis Simms.

Yeah Lukaku was perfect how we took advantage of them having Mourinho who never likes playing youth with his short term management style. Lukaku showed on loan at West Brom that he was going to be a top Premier striker whilst Delap has never shown the same level so Delap is unproven still whether he can score double figures in Premier League goalsMaybe, but I think if you said to some of these lads ‘want to start in the PL’ they’d swap their academy benches. We should have been in earlier with Delap before Ipswich took him. At one point even Kane was being overlooked by Spurs and farmed out on a load of loans.
We played it exactly right with Lukaku, offered a young top prospect who was frustrated at lack of game time at Chelsea a chance to be the main main, and just at the price point to make Chelsea fold. We’ve not done that since though. Lukaku had a huge ego as well so if we could do it with him there’s no reason it wouldn’t work on others.
Oh no...don't bring him up!….being mischevious, I do wonder if we’d have been any worst off had we saved lots of money and just kept Ellis Simms.
