January Transfer Window 2026

"Keep the powder dry until the summer", "no value in January", "no better than what we have", "we're looking to see if there's anyone out there", "people not looking to sell"...pick your phrase and see what comes up on the Bingo card.

There's people who still believe the above, believe that Everton are right and they'll prove it in the summer, around when we will get "it's a world Cup year, so it's difficult to do early signings", "the players we want, they want to keep their options open", "there's no value in August" etc etc etc

Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.

Agreed , same old excuses ..

Yet come Sept this year I am sure we will be able to look back at signings in January that show that better players than the ones we Will sign moved … AND FOR LESS MONEY

Keep reading that we are not spending anything on this thread......cos' Angus Kinnear said so and so did Moyes mainly from @bullybeef I know!

Should they have gone to the Moshiri approach and let everyone know we are in the market to spend a fortune, so we can get bargains like Davie Klassen for $30 million who was worth around $12 million and Bolasie for $27 million instead of 10 million

Never forget also Iceland for $45 million as we were in a price bidding war with ourselves!!!

There is money there, if we get the right deal - In the summer lots of players knocked us back because they thought it would be a relegation battle again, it's not!

Great deals them, only cost us around 250 million pounds all things accounted for.

Sigurdsson himself cost the club more than 65 million pounds if you factor in salary.

Cherry on the cake is that

Siggy 45m
Bolasie 27m
Tuson 27m
Walcott 20m
Sandro 5m
Allan 20m
Williams 11m
Gbamin 20m
Morgan 20m
Niasse 13m

All left for basically free ( Morgan sold for 2m )

And the average salary for them was huge

If we dont push on from here into at least top ten I dont think it'll be anti-Moyes people alone wanting him gone.

It'll be one of the biggest failures in Everton's recent history not to get at least 10th with the quality of players like Grealish, KDH and Ndiaye.

...and that's saying something.
Moyes wont be here next season I'm convinced of it.

He was brought in to get us safe last season and make sure our first season didnt end in relegation, he has done/doing that comfortably.

He is not the guy to take us where we want to be IMO, he will get the golden handshake in the summer, 'thanks and good luck'!

The new Everton are also proficient in the price bidding war with ourselves .......I give you Tyler Dibling.... actually you probably couldn't give him away right now

Well done Moyes.

The last Everton manager to lose an FA Cup game at Goodison and the first to lose one at the new stadium.

Another record for him.

….maybe because he was the last Everton manager to manage at Goodison and the first Everton manager to manage at BMD.

I suppose we could say Moyes was the first ever Manager to win a PL game at Goodison and BMD. Indeed, if the draw is kind next season, he could still be the first Everton manager to win an FA Cup tie at Goodison and BMD

What he’ll always be is the first Everton manager to lose an FA Cup tie at Goodison/BMD just as he’ll always be the first Everton manager to lose a league game at Goodison/BMD.

I think

He is also the Everton manager with most losses in the FA Cup without winning it.

Everton manager with most losses in the League cup as well.

And Europe.

Record breaker

Yeah those mistakes were critical to our downfall really. It was Monopoly money to us yet later on we where punished by the players themselves and the league for over spending.

When you think of them players it’s horrible. Tosun who ran his contract down cos he was on massive wages. Sig who got arrested and never played for us again. Walcott who as per usual was at the end of his career and someone offered him a payday.

Then you have Bolasie, Gbamin, Allan, all players who never really got injured. Came to us and all got injured. Crazy when you think about it.
