January Transfer Window 2026

Barry was bought because he had a similar profile to Beto and both Adam and Irvine went to watch him on separate occasions.
Interesting listening to Charlie Adam who was commenting on the game this afternoon.

Was pretty effusive on both Beto and Barry but made a point of saying Barry was bought because he won the most aerial duels in La Liga last year.
Sounds like they were looking for a target man in the Drogba mould.

Sound lads I'm sure but gorgeous is a bit of a stretch

I have listened to him before and it was interesting, He has clearly spent a fair bit of time with Beto last season and it sounds like Moyes had him out watching a fair few players at times doing scouting reports.

After the years of spunking away billion pounds, it really is scary that the club have spent nearly £100 million on Barry, Rohl and Dibling in the summer. To be fair, KDH was a good signing but it still doesn't bode well.
There is still time for them to come good imo
Maybe a different manager, maybe they'll be more settled next season
Not looking great right now but 2 of them haven't played that much

If we don’t sign anyone this week I give up honestly. No bench yes we have players out but the Bench has been shocking for weeks, who’s going to come on and change a game? We’ve got 2 terrible full backs at minimum we need one of them sorting out. And strikers who are absolutely useless. Definitely need to make a statement with a signing as we’re at risk of losing a couple of players if things don’t improve.
I was kind of hoping the Grealish loan wasn't the new owner statement signing but now I think it was
Don't get me wrong, happy we got him but it seems a cop out in a way

Sunderland must have had the best window on record. Immense. But that squad was built over more than 1 window.

They signed like 12 players didn’t they?

Goes to show that you can make huge personell changes at once … I’m constantly being told you have to I produce small groups of players gradually..

Maybe if you’re a good team and don’t want to upset things …

But if the teams plays like it has no idea how to attack or play actually with the football … huge changes are better ?

It seems Moyes was desperately to get him & he was keen to come, I guess he didn’t have to move & was guaranteed game time in a World Cup year, probably his last shot at that.

we tried to attract better in summer mate
but we need players now

and people are saying don’t give moyes money?

so how do we get players except loans
Regardless of who the manager is next season, we clearly need 2 new fullbacks. We need signings now so we give ourselves the best chance of finishing the season strongly and as a signal of intent to fans and potential summer signings that we are ambitious and not satisfied with being dumped out of cup competitions and finishing mid table/ bottom half. If Moyes can’t get the best out of these players, then come the summer, he needs to be sacked.

Wins aerial duels from long kicks from Pickford but is never going to bully a central defender and power in headers like Drogba. He’s so easy to play against.
