January Transfer Window 2026

Rohl is on loan, not bought with an inflated fee

Dibling is a good player, will become a great player if we get a manager who has an ounce of faith in him to help him develop rather than leaving him constantly looking over his shoulder for the hook as soon as the second half kicks off.

Barry is a 21 year old kid coming into the most physical and demanding league in the world, he's shown enough for me (and for many ex-pros) to be confident that he'll develop well (with the same caveats as listed after Dibling above). Plus £25m is the base line for any striker these days. We've all seen higher fees wasted on far worse players.
Wish I shared your optimism.

Dibling will be an ok player. I dont sense greatness.

Barry, not a natural finisher. Not a natural footballer from what we've seen.

I believe we have to pay 20m for Rohl this summer. I've no idea who scouted him. Armstrong is twice the player.

Barry is 23, not 21. He's not good enough. I dont see any way he's a good premier league striker. Neither his general play or finishing are good

Dibling hasn't performed so far and 40m was far too high a fee. He might become a great player but he's not good enough right now. And he isn't working hard enough for the team. Unless that changes, he won't make it here. Thankfully he still has plenty of time to improve.

Barry was bought because he had a similar profile to Beto and both Adam and Irvine went to watch him on separate occasions.
That's the insane thing. We bought Beto, said "nope, he's not what we need" and then spent 25m on a player who is almost identical to him. I just don't get what the point of either of them are. At least with Beto it was a delayed payment. There's absolutely no excuse to spending 40m on Dibling and 25m on Barry when 40m on a striker and 25m on a winger would have been a SIGNIFICANTLY better use of money.

how is it a wasted season?

so everyone who goes out the cup
except the too4 has a wasted season
We're going to achieve nothing. We'll come about 12th

A totally wasted season.

And that should be the mentality as well. I'm fed up seeing the club pat themselves on the back for doing a mediocre job. None of us get plaudits at work for doing a bang average job year after year.

so it’s a wasted season going out the cups and finishing 12th? and just in the
new ground?

give me the bottom 3 fights any day 🙄

Yes

Any season we exit cups early and are about the 12th - 15th best team, is a complete and utter waste of a season

I'm fed up just existing. I wish people at the club would feel the same and actually do something to try and win.
