People need to chill their beans on Barry and Dibling. They are young players, and in a new league (in Barry's case) - playing under David Moyes. He is the kind of manager who (for all the good he can do at creating a bonded squad) regularly destroys the confidence of youngsters.
Not to mention the squad is so lacking in depth and quality in certain areas. We are so dysfunctional at the moment. People moan that we never find the players that other clubs do but aren't prepared to give them any space to develop.
Branthwaite looked to have talent when he came through but had some absolute honkers and had to go out on a few loans to get better.
The issue is players like McNeil who have stunk the gaff out for years and years and is nowhere near Premier League standard. You cannot have an attacking player who is totally one footed, weak, slow, no skill and no footballing brain. He GENUINELY isn't Premier League quality yet people make grand statements about young players.
We will be better when the McNeils, Mykolenkos and Keanes of this world are finally moved on.

Most decent clubs move quickly enough which suggests the majority of the work on the deals was done months earlier. Evertons need is obvious but yet nothing.

Id like sell mcneil get in a wide forward with pace who could play in the middle. Aznou showed today how pace can change a game something we dont have. Be another poor window if is just a rb imo

In that context, what was the expectation level that brings you to the conclusion that it was/is a lost season?
Top 10. At least one cup run to the latter stages. New signings for the long term who become features of the team.
One failed and TBC on the other two
Just in a chance for a surprise team to make europe this season, ofc been unlucky with injuries. Just feels another summer window left us short again

Top 10 was/is my target as well, but I'd struggle to actually defend that logically
Cos we have half our first team players out and it’s not exactly easy to sell off highly paid and underperforming footballers

I know we have a slew of unavailable players but we need bodies and a proper right back at least and some other additions
To be fair top six is only like three points away , top half still attainable just need a course correction which even a couple players could aid with
