…..not sure about ‘most days’ but posters use this thread for rumours, twitter stuff etc which inform much of the discussion. Personally, I like the rumours because confirmed signings usually start with some type of link. Much prefer those to folk putting up aspirational signings, names they’d like us to be interested in.

Once upon a time, I did used to come on here every morning with an exhaustive list of rumours. That was hard work for me but was actually very popular.

….back in the real world, Patterson might not want to be sold ‘for the good of his career’ because it’s almost certain that if any club wants him they will not be prepared to pay him anything like the contract he’ll have been on here for the last 4 years.

Indeed, I wouldn’t be surprised if he looks back on a 5 1/2year PL contract and think Everton was the best thing that ever happened to his career.

I can’t see him leaving for a fee with 18 months of his contract left and I couldn’t blame him, a loan maybe the best we can hope for.

I agree, a loan would be best for all parties if he gets gametime. He will want to go to the world cup and if it works out he may have a value either as a squad player or be sold.

Yep , i think given that they've signed two strikers he’s likely to be on £6k a week for a while so he’s probably keen to move on .

Extremely good all-rounder right back. Close to elite defensively, decently above average in possession. Not quite so good in the air which might put Moyes off but has basically everything else you want. Dream RB link for me that I never thought would be available for us but it looks like Monaco are trying to sell off a bunch of early-peak age players to reinvest right now.

Something something market opportunity, something something only if the right player comes along...

If you put him and Wesley in front of Moyes.

Moyes would always choose Vanderson.

£20mil would be a bargain.

I have to laugh at the idea of waiting for the right deal. What this usually means in reality is that we wait till the very end of the window, and then panic and don't get value in the market anyway.

I dont expect a busy window but we certainly need at least a full back so a little proactivity would be a good idea.

He's had a year to scout Rb's, no excuses on finding players to fill that position. over inflated,
A couple of positions higher league finish would cover the inflation.

He’s a bluffer. I expect on the 3rd February we’ll get an interview from him telling us that the summer window will be difficult due to the World Cup and that we will have to be patient again in order to secure our top targets. I am already braced for us entering next pre-season woefully short of numbers and scrambling around in the last few weeks of the window for whatever scraps are left on the table. We are the easiest football club in the world to predict.
