January Transfer Window 2026

Never said club weren’t interested in spending money in January at all. Sorry mate he said money was available, just it would have to be an excellent deal for the club a deal to good to pass on. He said we definitely wouldn’t be spending 30mil on Robinson, January or the summer .

Bobble never said that
His words “Everton are open for business” , but they wouldn’t spend on a player now unless it’s a deal they’d also happily do in the summer, the Bobble expects at least 1 player in, most likely a loan and a right back. So could easily sell Patterson, think if we could get the right striker in, maybe they sell Beto, but such a tough market and With the Afcon it’s made it a more difficult window, he mentioned Lazio and beto, as they seem to selling off all their strikers, so who knows

A loan & a right back permanent or just a right back on loan?

Has he given any ideas on type of right back?

Have to hope a right back comes in and we sell Patterson for the good of his own career.

Then also it makes no sense at all to keep Beto and McNeil with them not being in the team and contracts running out in 2027.

Got to move all three on this window.

If the club were open for business I honestly think there would be actual links to rightbacks by now. There is money available but the club thinking spending it in Jan is a completely different thing. Bobble did say "if the right deal comes along" . That seems to indicate the club are hoping to wait till summer unless a cheap option becomes available which won't happen in Jan during Afcon.

I love it when they say this, as if they are so meticulous in their strategy that they always get the right deal in the end (they almost never get the right deal)

….back in the real world, Patterson might not want to be sold ‘for the good of his career’ because it’s almost certain that if any club wants him they will not be prepared to pay him anything like the contract he’ll have been on here for the last 4 years.

Indeed, I wouldn’t be surprised if he looks back on a 5 1/2year PL contract and think Everton was the best thing that ever happened to his career.

I can’t see him leaving for a fee with 18 months of his contract left and I couldn’t blame him, a loan maybe the best we can hope for.

Am i missing something here. So we won't spend as fees are inflated in january. Well on that basis those three that we could sell could generate inflated fees that could offset the inflated prices of players we buy.

Your players have to be in demand, very unlikely McNeil or Patterson will be, maybe an Italian club will need a striker, but we all know Italian clubs don’t have a lot of money, most European clubs are trying to rip off premier league clubs. Unless you’re selling to one of the biggest clubs in Europe, most prem teams are only getting good value from other/desprate prem clubs or Saudi

Back in the real world is quite funny
As you post snippets most days from
The bbc sport gossip column about an Everton transfer, when 90% of those are nonsense

Top and bottom of it is nobody knows....not Bobble, not Bob from Kirby or Bill from Crocky, probably not Kinnear and certainly not Moyes. History tells you very clearly that Everton don't do structural, organised, forward-thinking, well-executed recruitment.
Well they have brought in a new recruitment team and set up, so you’d hope moving forward that would be the plan. For 30yrs we’ve had bill kenwright and moshiri meddling in transfers

…..not sure about ‘most days’ but posters use this thread for rumours, twitter stuff etc which inform much of the discussion. Personally, I like the rumours because confirmed signings usually start with some type of link. Much prefer those to folk putting up aspirational signings, names they’d like us to be interested in.

Once upon a time, I did used to come on here every morning with an exhaustive list of rumours. That was hard work for me but was actually very popular.

If you don’t want to see ‘rumours’ then this is certainly not the thread for you, Matey ;)
