January Transfer Window 2026

Do feel would be a waste if we didnt bring in atleast two players in as could really decide how high up in the table we finish. Imo think most clubs this window will be busy

I wouldn't read too much into Kinnears statement today, it’s pure expectation management.

Heading into the summer Moyes and the club raised expectation's around the window particularly in the final game at Goodison and Kinnear doing his interviews. I think many of our top targets turning us down softened our cough and surprised us - resulting in the summer window needing to be “rescued”.

They won’t make that mistake again…this window they are playing down expectations from the start, they can work away quietly and if anyone comes in they will be “exceptional” and they have done great - so they are talking out of both sides of their mouth.

If they are considering young Harrison to come back - they know we’re up against it.

Minimum I’d expect would be loans.

Well it’s not an odd question, is it? You gave reasons to justify a 2-year cycle for AFCON which all fall away when you realise Asia Cup isn’t as well.
This is a playground line of rationale

Saying that these blokes don't do it so these blokes shouldn't either doesn't prove anything. Many more extraneous factors

They don't have any domestic leagues that even come close to what most other continents have, for a start

Don't think us in our ivory towers are in any position to say what is right and wrong for African Football

Let them have a tournament every couple of years
